Xiaomi beats anti-China sentiment to retain top spot in India, races ahead of Samsung and Vivo

India did pretty well this quarter with 54.3 million smartphone shipments. China, worlds largest market has about 83 million shipments in the same quarter.
the price range of those shipped in china and India are incomparable.... It's like comparing the revenue of selling 100 LV bags to 100 hrx from some bolly actor.

Sure. China is 5 times larger economy. I am pretty sure they would be able afford more.

But also sadly their house hold debt is 54% of their GDP. India's house hold debt is only 11%. So in effect their household debt is 25 times ours.

FaiR point. Some Indians get jobs from China while some get pushed into a river by China, and India will not boycott China to the degree that votes for Modi may be lost due to lost jobs.

It's a delicate balance between pleasing the families of dead soldiers vs the families of working folk.
How do you juxtapose it with Pakistanis asking Indian Govt for medical visas on Social Media?

I thought India banned everything Chinese after the border debacle ? How come a Chinese brand is still dominating there ?

give India all the tech it wants but its low iq wont know what to do with it anyway. Just a monkey playing with a calculator.

iPhones are made in China, but profits go to US. If Indians believe otherwise, they should boycott everything, iPhones, Boeing, Airbus, everything is made in China, you can't boycott life.

Majority of the Chinese branded phones sold in India are made in India. These phones were sort of gateways to Chinese apps like tictok. But the Chinese apps are banned now.

I thought India banned ALL Chinese companies/brands from the country ? If so why spare others ?
Seems the Indian government itself is unsure about setting a clear cut law banning all Chinese brands in India. Why adopt half measures?
The point I'm trying to make is that banning Chinese companies from investing/operating in India because of border issue is just plain stupid. 🤦🏾‍♂️. A country(especially a developing one) shouldn't adopt policies that is detrimental to itself due to emotions. They should always put their economy/country growth first. Other measures can be used to control a security threat. This is even more true for a poor developing country like India who needs all the investment and job creation/growth it can get.
If Chinese leaders were as sentimental as Indian leaders then China wouldn't allow any investment from Taiwan , U.S, Japan etc. Countries who they have either border issues/conflict with. How stupid will that be, since it will deprive China of all the investment, technology, capital, job creation and growth that the country has been enjoying all this years. Even Vietnam hasn't banned Chinese companies/investment in their country, same with Japan etc.
Seriously South Asian countries need to get their act together and stop adopting stupid emotional policies which is detrimental to their economy/growth , it's no surprise that South Asia is the poorest region on planet earth. You guys need to Learn from your east Asian neighbours for GODS sake. 🤦🏾‍♂️
