WW2 Remastered in color :)

Using Photoshop u make layers and color them on the basis of their skin patter for example if layer is human face u color as skin color. You Guess which is better color yourself this is time consuming and manual work.

Can someone explain how the old photos are colored? Is it guess work or some computer software?
