There is no good reliable internet site which discusses the matter of statues according to Islam. If you disagree with my opinion that’s fine, I’ll respect that, but simply stating that ‘a majority of scholars say otherwise’ is not a rebuttal. Give me logical reasons why Islam would want statues to be destroyed or defaced. If you can’t, then ask some Mullahs or google it. I provided my reasons as to why destroying and defacing statues makes no sense in today’s world, and how it in fact contradicts Islamic teachings in many ways.
It is time we stopped just accepting everything Mullahs tell us without questioning them and bringing up own own objections and arguments- they should be able to provide us with justifications for their interpretations backed up by logic and facts.
What about Borobudur Buddha statues in Indonesia and Sphinx statue in Egypt. Their governments are making a ton of money out of that from tourism purposes.I don't think you know how ahadith work, so please don't comment on something you don't know about.
Yes, but tempted as I am, I try to stay clear of religious discussions.
So, Minions and Sponge Bob was came from this art....For all our die-hard Salafi/Arab Wannabe friends who want to destroy/remove our heritage/statues from our Museums,
Saudis proudly own and preserve their pre-Islamic heritage,
These ancient Arabian idols/statues have been on display in the National Museum of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia:

Again, that means nothing.
Our scholars have had a lot of fun distorting Hadith to suit their backwards and regressive ways.
Here’s my interpretation of the Hadith
So, Saudis too do not follow Islam, according to you?
Anyone who promotes the haram is not following it properly.
at the risk of offending my Shia brethren, I want to assert, very simplistically, that Islam abolished priest-craft, hence no Imamat in original Sunnis; instead they opted for a kind of democracy hence the wars between Shia (imamat) and Sunnis (democracy, later corrupted into inheritance/hereditary rule).Do you honestly think the hundreds of Imams that have authenticated these ahadith were all in on the conspiracy?
Sigh. I guess you support the destruction of the Bamiyan Buddhas tooAnd we should spend hours destroying them!
And what do you know about Islam? Are you even Muslim?at the risk of offending my Shia brethren, I want to assert, very simplistically, that Islam abolished priest-craft, hence no Imamat in original Sunnis; instead they opted for a kind of democracy hence the wars between Shia (imamat) and Sunnis (democracy, later corrupted into inheritance/hereditary rule).
No one was supposed to make a living out of selling, buying religion. Prayer leaders were supposed to be any one of you who was most educated. Scholars should have been businessmen, teachers, doctors, soldiers etc. religion was not supposed to sold bought. Madaaris meant schools where everything was taught. then you started becoming "scholars" by sitting in company of other illiterates for a few years, then went and opened a "store" (Cathedral-like Mosques) selling religion and fataawah (at the expense of an all-round education) etc.
The Afghan Taliban said they blew up the Buddha statues because the UN would rather pay money to preserve the statues than give money to feed the poor.Sigh. I guess you support the destruction of the Bamiyan Buddhas too
A lot more than many here on PDF and more than a few in real world tooAnd what do you know about Islam?
NoAre you even Muslim?
