World renowned brand Voltas comes to Bangladesh

I never heard of this brand.

Their consumer brand is not sold outside India for the most part.

Indian businesspeople have historically made sure that no foreign brand can compete easily in Indian market, so Indian people used to buy low quality backdated tech items at rather high cost (no open market).

This has changed in the last twenty years (license raj) so you see a lot of foreign brands nowadays. However duty and tariff structure forces foreign brands to set up local factories and indigenize with Indian suppliers, further lowering quality.

The Daikin branded Split A/Cs you see in Thailand, are entirely different from those made in India and offered in the Indian market. I don't know if the compressors are also made in India, if so, I'd stay away from them.

This is not a slight to Indian manufacturing.

The Indian consumer is far more price-sensitive (Kanjoos) when buying anything, even white goods like Aircons, which is a long term investement.
