World Cup: Petition Filed Against Pakistan's Poor Performance

Lahore High Court (LHC) Monday admitted a petition against the poor performance of the Pakistani team during the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup.

The team has lost both its matches so far, the first was to India and the second to the West Indies. (Shoaib Akhtar Slams Misbah's Captaincy)

The petitioner has named Prime Minster Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Shahryar Ahmed Khan and PCB board member Najam Sethi as respondents in the case, Dawn online reported.

The petitioner has questioned the team's dismal performance in the World Cup 2015 and has asked the court to investigate the possible causes behind the collapse.

LHC's Justice Ijazul Hassan will hear the case February 24.

Under what section of the law can such a petition be entertained? Is the Pakistani team playing using taxpayers money? Is PCB a govt body?

If you think in a calm manner he is only doing what he feels is right. Many Pakistanis even in PDF have accused of match-fixing, corruption, board incompetence etc. which is hampering their team performance. Match-fixing is a genuine case for a lawsuit. Players have been jailed for that.

@Guys - please get a hold of yourself...I agree that Pakistan team performed badly however this is not end of the world...Look at India...they had a horrid tour of Australia and one good win turned them around....Pakistan's quarter final spot is not in jeopardy and thereafter it is a matter of 3 good games...no??

Also the problem is in the PCB...Non-performers are being rewarded and Pakistan public needs to put pressure on its board....if at all you guys need to vent your anger then do it on your board...

Similar thing was happened in India a few years agne moron ,and advocate filed a petition in a High court to change Ganguly from captaincy.Court fined him for wasting courts time and warned him
