Woman kills 17 in botched plot to kill husband

Circumstantial evidence will **** it up (too many if's and buts). Mostly police get over excited and make a mess of everuthing. I have seen way too many such cases walk free. From Judiciary's pov as well as defense pov. I'll be surprised even if it gets past session court.

If I were her lawyer, she would be sitting home.

What’s your take?

Do you think it was her fault? I know killing is no excuse but would you say she was mentally unstable and pushed through desperation

. . . .
Dear dear. It's not for me to judge if her motives were kosher or not, I however can do is give probable lines of defense and counter arguments that PP (public prosecutor) may come up with.

What you have to understand is, this is Pakistan - you'll be surprised that 95% of such stories are fake and cooked up by the Police. We don't have Scotland Yard or CSI (we do but ha ha, you should see these guys)

What she needs to do is get some good lawyer. They don't come cheap.

It's a little late for all that after admitting her crime to the judge.

I’ve read other articles so know a bit more intensively about the story. I know what you guys mean but forced Marriages is no joke and neither is killing. It’s just a real bad messy situation
You can't equate both ... especially in this case when there have been 17 deaths as a result of her actions. The real victims are the people that have lost their lives...

I understand and that’s something I can’t get pass.

There is absolutely no excuse.

We don’t know what kind of mental or emotional torture she may have gone through

The thing is that the husband did not force her to marry him, nor did he refuse to give her a divorce as per the article. According to the article, she claims her parents did not allow her to get a divorce. I call complete and utter bs on that. She could have gotten a court divorce and nobody would have been able to stop her as per law.

In fact, she could have refused the marriage at the time of nikkah by simply saying no from the beginning. The only people at fault here are her and her boyfriend.

Did I miss something? Judge or police? FIR or in front of Session Judge? If Police, then ha ha, makes no blind difference, even a written and signed statement (with photo / video etc etc) will be discarded in ONE second, however, if in front of Session Judge, even then, nothing is lost, it makes it just a bit annoying to prepare defense, nothing more than inconvenience.

I'm not a lawyer, but I think her case is weak especially after so many people are dead because of her actions.

@DESERT FIGHTER Need your legal expertise here.

Mate, just read the article, it says in front of journalists. Trust you me, it all depends upon a good lawyer, however, as far as I see she's not in a position to hire one. In Pakistan justice is served/supressed to/for only those who can afford it.

In the article it says 'in front of a judge in Muzaffargarh on Tuesday'.
