that pic looks like shaktiman truck and IA still uses it.

Most of these trucks have been replaced and very very few are there.

Moreover i dont think you will se Shaktiman or 3 ton(as they call it in army) in convoy.

Ashok Leyland Stallion or TATA trucks are more common now.

Sir, i dont think the vehicle has any shockers or road springs...and when it used to rain..we used to get wet in no time...aur jab gaadi kharab hoti thi toh sab dhakka lagate they.

No Matter How Much You say about that vehicle, You would Be surprised to know that many Tourist Departments are Interested to Buy even the Kaput Shaktiman Vehicle from the Army, Army has so far donated Only one and Its Successfully carrying tourists in Imphal where no Off roader goes

No Matter How Much You say about that vehicle, You would Be surprised to know that many Tourist Departments are Interested to Buy even the Kaput Shaktiman Vehicle from the Army, Army has so far donated Only one and Its Successfully carrying tourists in Imphal where no Off roader goes

Without doubt Sir...it is a very good off roader...the only thing being it makes even the highway look like an off road.

Jokes apart Sir..i think i havent seen any unreliable vehicle in the Army till now...be it Joonga or Nissan 1 ton...all have gone now but they were reliable.

But nowadays even better vehicles are comming...easy to start in winters very comfortable and better looking too.

And In Shaktiman which carries School children , Has an Army guy who would Lift the primary kids and Place them inside, the Steps is as high as a 4th std Kid.... I myself have done that many a times... , Nostalgic Indeed...
