Azad Hind Fauj or Indian National Army (INA) was undoubtedly one of the foremost freedom movements in the subcontinent against the British.

It was rooted in a socialist ideology, calling for equality of all Indians irrespective of their faith. The INA kept religion and faith strictly personal and called for ideological equality.

Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose had an army of people that comprised of all regions of greater India including many brave commanders from present day Pakistan, Myanmar and Bangladesh.

I was very curious to ask this to the Pakistani members here.

Would Pakistanis have preferred the INA rule which strove for the collective pride of the subcontinent?

They even encouraged the Hindi-Urdu derived Hindustani as the national language in addition to all regions al languages.

Considering that we did not have a bitterness then between us and were all as one single region, would you have preferred such a rule?

Very interested to know what you all think about Netaji, Lt Shahnawaz Khan, Capt Mohan Singh etc.

I don't think so this Subcontinental bond was much intensified in the local population... It was just British Raj that compelled people to live like this...There were ten and hundred of states even in British raj and before that each with different identity and customs...
Regarding Lt Shahnawaz Khan it was interesting to note his family migrated to Pakistan and his son served as Army officer in 1965 from PA side..
Shahnawaz also demanded the permanent separate personal laws for religious communities in India.
There would have been a democracy for sure in United India and Majority always rule..We knew who was majority and what would have happened to the people that now constitutes Pakistan..
Though Bose did contribute a lot and his opposite views to Ghandi were much known...Like others of his era his death was also mystery until now

1947 was best year for Both Nations.we got what we wanted.

Why you want to live with Pakistanis anyway ? Arent you a gurkha ? What type of relations your people have with pakistanis ?

If we People from Jammu dont want to live with Pakistanis despite being a Sarhadi State why you want to live with pakistanis when you live 1000s of mile away in UP,Bihar, nepal, Mumbai and South ?

I am curious to know what Pakistanis here think about Azad Hind Fauj.

After all, it is as much their history as it is ours.

There were two Armies that Bose had - the Azad Hind Fauj in the East and the Legion Friere Indien in the West - the two Armies were supposed to liberate India by attacking from both sides. Pakistan would be more associated with the Legion. Not that they care

There are two sets of Pakistanis just like Indians

1. over 90% who do not know nothing about Azad Hind Fauj or Bose or Shahnawaz

2. Researchers/Academicians who very well know about Azad army and the personalities.

So your question to common Pakistanis is an alien one.

The second set of Pakistanis might have views some in favour some against this suggestion based on logical arguments

Do you really hate Hindus? Or do you hate the ACTS of SOME Hindus? Its an important distinction. I am thankful for Pakistan. But let's not paint entire communities with the same brush. That's not who we are, or rather, that's not who we should be.
