With Hurriyat invite, Pakistan challenges India’s ‘red lines’

It is India's issue if it wants to make red lines. Red, purple, pink or blue, whatever lines it makes will not stop us meeting the Kashmiri leadership when we want to unless they are put under house arrest, which will make this whole red line issue funnier... Especially to the world which will cover that aspect nicely.
Like it is said, core issues need to be solved or else these bilateral meetings will remain jokes where both sides will repeat their positions and come back.

What is use of Pakistan meeting Kashmiri separatists when India doesn't want to be part of this. What is Pakistan and Kashmiri separatists going to solve by talking between themselves?....nothing. Anyway you are free to meet anyone you like...and Kashmiri separatists, being Indian Citizens, have the freedom to go anywhere across India to meet anyone.

then what is the issue if they do talk... At one side you say they have no power if they meet, and on the other you say it is a red line... We will always come on the table with Kashmir as a core issue, and this will never change. Kashmir is an issue and we want to meet those who are directly involved.
There is no use solving any issue if the core ones are left. it is like trimming weed rather than removing it, there can be no normalisation of relations while the roots remain...

Because we don't recognize Kashmiri separatists as the party to Kashmir issue. Indian government has no right to govern where Indian citizen move and meet. The red line is to Pakistan. It is to say that by engaging Kashmiri separatists, you are making talks between India and Pakistan irrelevant. Even UN resolution doesn't say Kashmiris being party to the isuue...only India and Pakistan are party of Kashmir issue.

Anyway...the talks have failed before they even began.

that is not our issue, whether you recognise them or do not, we do. So whatever issue you have are not of any consequence to us.

yes the real peace loving talks, which have been going on with these meetings for ages, suddenly India has an issue with these talks, and makes lines up

kudos, comes back to core issues, till they are solved, all these talks are a waste of time and money

India will refuse to be part of any talks that it feel are not according to the spirit of bilateral dispute resolution mechanism in place between India and Pakistan. You are free to talk to anyone you like and it has got nothing to do with India.

India will prefer to wait until sense prevails in the Political and Military establishments of Pakistan for new round of talks. Till then goodbye...

Well India can keep waiting then, there is no way the Kashmiris are not part of the negotiations.. We will consult with them before any answers are given, and if that is a red line, that is illogical. What should India care who we meet when in the end we will be talking to them

the mechanism has been that the government of Pakistan meets the Kashmiri leaders...
did you even read this article or is this just how you argue, going around in circles with no points.. the current government wants to change the mechanism but now this should be the new mechanism because India wants it like that... Great logic... please do not quote me if all you want to do is make moronic arguments.

We will wait.....that is what India is precisely doing...we will continue to wait until Pakistan genuinely want its disputes with India solved. Pakistan is not serious....and it shows in the way you guys are dillydallying.

As on your other point...show me one document that say Kashmir separatists are mentioned being part of talks.

As I understand Rawalpindi is pissed with Islamabad after Ufa talks. Now Rawalpindi has told Islamabad that they do not want any talks at any circumstances. So they are taking three pronged provocations. 1. Activate sleeper cells and attack Indian Targets like Gurudaspur and Udhampur. 2. Fire across LOC and kill as many civilians as possible before 23rd August. 3. Invite Huriyyat (Invitation is only to provoke as they have been talking everyday). Now what India should do?

1. Should never back out from talks even if it is presumed as the talks of the deaf.
2. Just listen to them and tell them about your own dossier which you have prepared knowing fully well that nothing is going to happen.
3. Just give them tea and biscuits in the meeting and nothing else.
4. And after they have left, go after Huriyat leaders in every possible way and
5. Lastly tell Army that now they have a complete free hand and kill three times of the civilians they have killed (I mean not civilians from other side, but those who have killed our civilians)

How about house arrest of all these separatists. preventive detention for public peace.;)

Nailed it.

Ahead of NSA meet, government puts top Hurriyat leaders under house arrest

A day after reports emerged that Pak High Commisissioner has extended invitation to separatist leaders for Sartaj Aziz's reception party, Indian government has responded strongly.

Top Hurriyat leaders Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Abbas Ansari are currently under house arrest.

On Wednesday, Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit extended an invitation to the Hurriyat chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani and other Hurriyat leaders for Pakistan NSA Sartaj Aziz's reception party to be held on August 23.

meaningful Talks between Pakistan India will not happen any time soon and by soon I mean a century ... We will keep supporting kashmiri freedom fighters and consider them a party in the talks. This will always throw a wrench in the talks. If India has a problem with it then I guess let's continue the status quo and the issues between the two nations.. Its not like if talks happen India will give Kashmir their freedom nor will we give an inch of land to them.
