PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government on Wednesday suspended three provincial ministers for alleged involvement in corrupt practices and poor performance, including two from the Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) with whom PTI chief strongly advised to end provincial coalition with QWP, Express News reported on Wednesday.

“Chairman PTI Imran Khan today issued a strong advisory to CM Khyber-Pukhtunkwa to pull out of the coalition with QWP,” a statement from PTI issued on Wednesday evening read.

Have asked KP CM 2 pull out of coalition with QWP. QWP was given 2 warnings about corruption of 2 of their ministers but to no avail.1/3

— Imran Khan (@ImranKhanPTI) November 13, 2013

The statement further explained that government’s decision to end their coalition was based on QWP ignoring multiple warnings that it was issued about the corruption of their ministers.

2/3 Instead QWP showed its displeasure at their corruption being pointed out by boycotting the provincial cabinet meetings.

In the statement, Imran added that PTI was elected on a mandate against corruption and has zero tolerance for any form of corruption.

This should be a clear warning 4 all r Ministers/MPAs. PTI cannot have as a coalition partner any Party that tolerates corruption.

— Imran Khan (@ImranKhanPTI) November 13, 2013

On the other hand, Imran praised ministers from Jamaat-e-Islami, the other coalition partner of PTI in K-P.

“Our JI Ministers have proven exemplary in this regard and we respect them for their commitment towards anti-corruption.”

Suspended ministers

The suspended ministers are Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Yousuf Ayub Khan and Quami Watan Party’s (QWP) Malik Ibrar Hussain Khan and Bakht Bedar.

The PTI minister was also declared ineligible by the Supreme Court for holding a fake degree.

Yousuf was the Minister for Communications and Works, Bedar was Minister for Industries, Commerce and Technical Education and Malik was Minister for Environment.

QWP’s Response

QWP Chairman Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao issued an official statement on Wednesday saying that anyone who has evidence of corruption should share it with his party.

“We will take stern action if proof is shared with us,” he categorically stated.

“We have been clear since day one that we will not tolerate corruption as we believe in transparency and good governance,” he added, emphasising he would not allow anyone to tarnish the party’s reputation.

‘Stamping out corruption’

Earlier on November 8, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan had urged Chief minister of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Pervaiz Khattak, to investigate corruption in the province, according to PTI’s official website.

The online press release reiterated the party’s two electoral promises of bringing peace back to the country, particularly in K-P, and stamping out corruption.

But then with whom PTI will replace QWP? PTI will lose 8 seats in KPK assembly to Opposition benches. The only other options are
1- AJIP with 4 seats
2- ANP with 5 seats
3- PML-N with 16 Seats
4- PPP with 4 Seats
and
5- JUI-F with 16 Seats?
Except from AJIP, no other alliance will be logical or sustainable. Losing out 8 seats will expose the government to opposition strength.
Remember JUI-F will not let go any chance to pounce upon KPK government.

I like his style, man. That priceless attitude.

'Let justice be done, though the heavens may fall'

I do not care if PTI looses KPK government. They must not be seen as tolerant of corruption.

The timing is also very meaningful. The pressure against PTI government would be immense in the wake of this event. Once PTI stops NATO supplies, all bets are off. If IK sees possibility of mid-term elections then the confluence of these decisions makes sense. Otherwise, IK may have the principle but no government - not necessarily a bad situation if PTI wishes to be seen as being on moral high ground.

And that exactly is the point.......Ik literally begging everyone nowaday to sabotage PTI KPK government somehow(either by tearing apart his own coalition or acting against the federation with stoppage of NATO supply).......actully his kind of mentality can't administer political governments to its logical run with political give and take let alone in a coalition:hitwall: he only finds himself comfortable in calling names and shouting on jalsas like a street boy.

The bottom line is, In politics......he is just good for nothing:coffee:

When would Mr. Khattak be sacked for doing nothing .........

Pushtun sentiment is being exploited by QWP. Easier to start a war.....

PTI is still a coalition partner of Terrorists like TTP and Jamaat-e-Islami.

Choppy seas: As provincial coalition wobbles, PTI, PML-N reach out to PPP

PESHAWAR: Both provincial and central ruling parties Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) have reached out to Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), report insiders.

This development has come on the heels of the unceremonious removal of two Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) ministers from the provincial cabinet on grounds of corruption.

The sacking, combined with Imran Khan asking the party to break away from the QWP coalition, has primed Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s political landscape for a new kind of change.

PPP insiders privy to these meetings say leaders of both parties have contacted certain PPP figures over the past few days. However, it seems no decision has come about from these meetings.

According to the PPP source, Adviser to the prime minister Amir Muqam contacted a senior PPP politico from K-P a few days ago while PTI leaders also reached out to a relative of another senior PPP leader in Islamabad.

He explained the PPP leadership is in the midst of making in-house consultations regarding these overtures but, he confirmed, no conclusions have been drawn yet.

In another day or two, the party will take a decision with regards to the meetings with the PML-N and PTI, he added.

Amir Muqam confirmed his meeting with PPP K-P President Khanzada Khan. Muqam maintained it was for personal reasons and had no political agenda.

PPP MPA Nighat Orakzai, however, denied reports about meetings between her party and the PTI. And if any such lines of communication are opened, the provincial chapter will look towards PPP’s central control, she added.

PPP has four members in the K-P Assembly at present; its role is likely to become more vital if the QWP leaves the government with its 10 MPAs. Its exit might just be round the corner after two of its ministers were sent packing on Wednesday.

Nice move Mr Khan. If you were PM of India, the halls of parliament would be empty :D

Crisis in the making. By shedding QWP PTI will have to accept PPP,AJIP and at least one independent candidate to get safety margin. Pervaiz Khattak's CMship hangs in balance now.
