WION: Why is India poised to become the next superpower?

. . . .
What’s this obsession on becoming a superpower lol, they need to take things step by step and have countless of other issues but their main focus is portraying how they are going to become a superpower one day (or not).

. .
PPP is only useful when trying to describe the living standards due to difference in prices of local goods and services but it cannot be used to compare between countries. If you have 9$ trillion PPP economy and you go to another country and tell them "hey we want to import 4$ trillion worth of goods from you" then they will just laugh at you, you can't import stuff with PPP money because PPP money doesn't exist.

And ofcourse when they mention China it is in nominal GDP to make it look closer to India's 9$ trillion PPP, not only that but it is an old number, nowadays China's GDP has exceeded 16$ trillion.

We all see through Pajeet's tricks after fantastic tea and Galwan

. . .
So India's economic strategy for the future is to breed more people.

Reminds me of low-quality Bangladeshi journalists writing articles about how Bangladesh's GDP is on the verge of overtaking that of Denmark, Singapore, Hong Kong. But no one (outside of Pabna mental hospital in Dhaka) argues Bangladesh is more influential or more powerful than any of the aforementioned countries.

I can't think of a scenario of India's GDP overtaking that of China anyway. The per capita differential is just too high. INDIA needs 5 times the population right now, to reach parity with China's GDP. China's population has reached its plateau. It's a downwards hill from now. Despite that, China will be among the very few countries to break the middle-income trap. IMF estimates China's per capita income of $17k by 2026, putting her comfortably in the higher-income category. India and Bangladesh are predicted to be around $3000 and $3250 respectively. I have a feeling India will struggle to escape from the lower-income trap, let alone the middle-income one. When she does, she'll be among the last countries on earth to do so.

Remember, China only needs to have a per capita income similar to that of South Korea, in order to have an economy TWICE the size of the US. TWICE!!! And that's quite feasible tbh.

While India may have the 2nd largest economy by 2050, she'll still be the lowest category on a per capita basis.

too much reading books like Art of war and Chanakya neeti and treating them like gospel whether or not they fit the circumstances. the indians are... well.. stupid. they bluffed at the wrong time, at the wrong people, utterly and completely misunderstanding Sun Tzu

that reminds me of PDF Indians bragging on how their GDP was about to overtake that of the UK. imagine 1.4 billion people taking pride in beating 87 million

Indians should really stop this line of BS, from their establiment to media to keyboard warriors. It is doing India more harm than good, people elsewhere just can't take a blowhard seriously.

A 5'6" 100lb guy should grow some weight before calling himself a strongest man in the world.
