Winter Training 2015: Combat Recon

There is no way this is fun for those poor bloody infantry but as part of the PLA Winter Training, Reconnaissance Company, Armored Tactical BattleGroup, 70th Motorized Infantry Brigade, 65th Group Army, Beijing Military Region carried out a series of recon sorties against OpFor positions with SATComm equipped trucks and UAVs.

Artillery Brigade, 16th Group Army, Shanyang Military Region joins the "Winter Training 2015" fray.

For PLA, an Assault Gun such as the PTZ 89 is utilized in infantry fire support as well as in the defensive anti-tank role, therefore it is issued to a PLA artillery element with a basic TOE of six guns to a battery. As for the Artillery Brigade of the 16th GA, it's PTZ89 Abteilung consisted of three batteries of six guns each, totaling 18 tubes.

As part of the larger "Winter-Training 2015" program, the PLAN marine is face-off against elements from the 204th Mechanized Infantry Brigade, 16th Group Army at Taonan Tactical Training Base of Shanyang Military Region and here are pics of that "Red vs Blue" face-off.
