What's new

Wind power hurts ears. Don't use it.

Don't tell me what to do:butcher:!!!

And those off-shore wind farms are sure hurting my ears:

Hurts so good.

I'm sure the people of Bjugn hate their lives too. Just look at that wind turbine. Mocking them.

Those kill marine life and block ship traffic. Bad. Also a lot more expensive in terms of maintenance and plus sea water corrodes steel.

I'm planning to build a off grid villa solely running on wind and solar power, in a farm land in my hometown.

Do you have rare earth metals for wind turbine and solar panel? If you don't then you cannot use wind and solar power.

On the other hand, my house is supplied with natural gas. With a simple burner, I can harness energy from burning natural gas.

Hydrocarbons is much more versatile and easier to use than solar and wind power. Natural gas can be used for heating. You can't heat your house or heat water using wind and solar power.

Your laptop and mobile phone probably use more rare earth materials, than a whole bunch of solar panels, why using them then? Go back to wooden abacus.

Computer is a toy. It's only used for fun and ****.

Oh, now you're suddenly worried about the environment.

First of all, studies are conducted to see what type of environmental impact such projects could have, after all, renewable energy is most about protecting the environment. So your concern is less than warranted, it's worthless.

Second, initial cost is more expensive, but maintenance is actually cheaper. You're assuming that the people who work on such projects, don't take into consideration things such as corrosion.

Again, your points are worthless, and unscientific.

Another thing to ponder, specially in case of off shore wind turbines. If they use iron, or any iron oxide coated metal, that will not only facilitate to improve the aquatic microscopic flora, hence increasing the concentration of marine life, but can also act as a concrete support for coral reefs to grow upon.

Wether they build wind turbines or they burn hydrocarbons, makes no difference. In the end they put CO2 into air either way.

In terms of environmental impact, fossil fuels is actually beneficial. Plants love CO2. More CO2, more plants. More plants, more animals. That's why hydrocarbons should be heavily subsidized.

How do you account for the emission of sulfur oxide, nitrous oxide, smog and other particulates because of the fossil fuel?

Ultron, stop being so freaking ridiculous!.

Bullshit.
