Everything wrong with this country in one title.
Its terrifying and horrifying that being part of this country speaking up against the laws, or criticizing my own religious beliefs will cause my death. This is not only against Islam itself but also against every moral and ethical belief out there.
Blasphemy law is just a safe space boundary for those who are ignorant of their own religious beliefs and teachings, and they can't stand someone judging or criticizing their beliefs. Blasphemy law itself is the most unislamic thing on the planet and is the worst thing that happened to Muslims..
""Cut tongues and eyes"" --- How is this in any way or form peaceful and islamic? Why do we even allow such disgusting barbarians to take any part in religious talks much less politics itself?
We don't need to "amend" blasphemy law. We need to "completely remove" blasphemy law.

And God forbid!!!! "release those arrested", what the actual hell?
Never did i imagine that my God and my Prophet's name would be used by barbarians to kill innocent people and set criminals free, that Islam will be used to spread injustice, Its truly a sad spectacle for the muslims and Pakistanis.

Presently the Blasphemy law is nothing but a political tool.

• A mechanism to get necessary votes needed to bring one of the Molvi in House of Parliment
• The political aspect of the law is it is just a tool to get votes in election year
• The folks can't compete in term of social work or social service , becasue most of these folks never have held a broom in their lives , most of them employ a servant to clean the streets which according to them is above them.

I have never heard of a Molvi Run party to make a 1000 bed hospital

I think one of the Molvis even announced in public speeches voting for PTI is against Islam this was shown on TV , the molvi addressing the uneducated followers

Luckily the group only attracts 1% population figure or 0.05% however , the over all legality of the Blasphemy law has to be reviewed , there is too much of a chance of error in its present form and usage

Cases related to Minorities should be redirected to special courts that specialize in handling of minority issues, and fines and prison term should be imposed if video evidence is provided or violations in extreme cases , in line with preserving social order

Justice has to be "FAIR"

The folks who favor this law think in their head this is a fast track ticket to Heaven and that idea needs to be revisted

The problem isn't the amount of votes they get, but the political influence they wield.

This guy is the Province chief, and unless action is taken against him for his words it's nothing less than approval. Every government has had to have a coalition, whether they needed it or not, with some "religious" group to rule.

SHABQADAR: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) provincial chief Amir Mushtaq Ahmad Khan said, “I will cut the tongue and eyes of those who want to amend the blasphemy law.” He distanced himself from KP CM Pervez Khattak over his statement in the Mashal Khan murder case.

While talking to journalists at JI secretariat in Charsadda, he rejected KP CM's statement which he had given on the floor of the house regarding Mashal’s murder. He further added that till the investigation is not complete no one should call Mashal a martyr or a blasphemer.

The JI leader also said that no one should play with the public sentiments over blasphemy law.

Regarding Mashal’s murder he also said no mob or individual has any right to take law in their hand or kill anyone.

I support your deduction, but want to make a point. All blasphemy laws in Pakistan work smoother (relatively smoother, that is) except two. They are the ones that include death penalty, and do not have the "intention" clause. They are the ones which have no ifs or buts. They need to go; the others need to be heavily amended.

I want to correct you by clarifying something. Jinnah wanted a country where Muslims could retain their religious and political identity, where we experienced Islamic standards and morals but were not necessarily ruled by specific Islamic laws or theocracy which would harm the minority. THAT was the vision.
