Will China surpass USA in education?

If I was runnning things in DC I would combat Russia and China by encouraging their best and brightest to immigrate here.

Many of their best and brightest are already moving to America. You can check up the statistics if you can read Chinese. A large percentage of their elite university graduates move to the US for postgraduate studies and stay there afterwards.

I said poor because If you take your high population into account the 1% of your absolute lowest income population (13M+) will always be making less than 13M of the UK’s absolute lowest population (19%).
So it's pointless, I m talking about a country''s overall strength and wealth, Chinese Macau is the richest place in the world per capita, but it has no influence on anything in the world.

What Percentage of [US] High School Students Attend College After Graduation?

In 2016, the most recent year for which statistics are available, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that 69.7 percent of students who graduated high school in 2016 were enrolled in college.

43 percent of China's high school graduates admitted to colleges

The problem is quality. Cuba or Kyrgyzstan and most East European countries may have better figures (but of course they will not be considered here to make Western countries look good).

I would prefer my daughter to study tertiary education in Vietnam (one of the world's best), then university in China or Japan. After that, if she wants to continue studying, she should go to the West (just to see and make friends with the world on the other side, not about knowledge).

I think education is not just learning.

But most important is shaping out mindset to get a real result.

On this one, USA is still the winner.

Whatever many countries are above USA, according to the chart above.

But still from science, economy, movie, music, etc... USA is still above everyone.

US primary and secondary schools are inferior compared to most countries. Just look at how poorly American students score on math and science tests. But US universities are cut above.
