Wife commites suicide after husband tortures for worshipping Hindu gods

you first replied to my post ( which was meant for someone else )... so, if all you want to be is aggressively non-learning, please do stop being on internet.

So far I have not seen any value in you posts, so don't pretend to 'teach'. Second., you post may be for someone else, but in an open forum everyone can see it. So I am justified in countering the propaganda.

Only you cannot "assume" or "pretend" I said something outrageous and then attack me, pretend to defeat me and claim victory. :coffee:

born in india, been a socialist about fifteen years, living in india, been propagating jamahiriya direct-democracy since late 2010, been a contributor to the "world jamahiriya movement" since early 2011, and am 36, just two years older to you... :-)

well, there are some fanatical commie-haters here... mujhaidind, wolfschanzze and of course, indrani... :D
ah, cool, good to know :D.. but you're an idealist, I agree strongly with the "do away with religion, economic equality for all" but sadly socialism is a failed system, it sure failed us here in India

IMO the way to uplift our people is to go full capitalist, nevermind the inherent inequality in that system but we need to give it a full boost, let's see if Modi's plan works :)

the social democracy model works great in Scandinavia and few other parts of Europe but here we have a few more variables thrown in the mix, shall we say

anyway, lage raho.. :enjoy:

Wife commites suicide after husband tortures for worshipping Hindu gods - The Times of India

CHENNAI: What was supposed to be a convergence of faith in an inter-religious marriage turned tragic after the wife committed suicide. The husband had allegedly tortured her as she insisted on worshipping Hindu gods. Arrested subsequently on the charge of abetting suicide, a city court on Thursday has quashed his bail plea.

Antony Joseph, 32, a lift operator in a jewelry shop was in a relationship with Preethi (name changed) for several years. Both married on July2007 with the consent of their parents. The wedding was conducted with Hindu rituals at Tirupati temple and then with Christian faith at San Thome Church.

On Diwali (October 22) Preethi was found hanging at the couple's house in Saligramam. Her father, Thiyagrajan, then lodged a complaint stating Joseph often tortured her as he was against Hindu rituals of worship. The police arrested Joseph after registering a case under section 306 ( abetting the commission of suicide).

Seeking bail, Joseph filed a petition before the principal sessions court. He said Preethi, an emotional and sensitive woman, often fought over petty issues. Few days before Diwali, they had a quarrel over purchases for the festival. Following this Preethi had gone to stay with her parents. She returned on Diwali looking tensed and flustered. Before he left for work, she again had a heated argument with him. Around 6.30 pm, Preethi called him and told she was going to commit suicide, said Joseph.

When Joseph reached the house, he found her hanging from a saree. Preethi was taken to a hospital where she was declared dead, he said.

When the matter came up for hearing on Thursday, city public prosecutor, M L Jegan opposed the bail plea stating the matter was in the preliminary stage of investigation. Principal sessions judge N Audinathan rejected the bail application.

So you are trying to say that all christians do this? This is a isolated incident if Preethi did not commit suicide.

Most of the time it is the christian community which is at the receiving end of such violence. Orissa riots are an example. Apparently she committed suicide. I am sure this act was one on a rare occasion. On the other hand attacks on churches and other Christian institutions are common.

Muslims and pakistani's should be the last person to comment on attack on christians or attack on Indians oor attack on churches.

And this is how an BJP hindu extremist looks like
Don't quote me again. I don't respect hindu fanatics

For your information, BJP is not in power in TN, and they do not have a single MLA in 234 constituencies in TN. Its you who is painting everything in religious extremism.
You have no idea on some Christian people here. This is a case really possible, considering my own experience in TN, where I had been asked to convert nearly 2 times to Christianity. Foreign funded NGO's are running rampant.
But unlike my neighbouring country, here, all can intermarry, without pressures of conversion.

sorry, but I'm against collectivism

and it's an unfeasible proposition anyway, more free market capitalism is our only hope to uplift people

also, I despise crony corporatist capitalism myself, small business guy here.. but if I could press a button and make money irrelevant and ensure freedom and equality for all, I'd do it in a second.

how about a bit of pragmatic idealism ? full communism just does-not-work.. also, I think I might have a seen a few pro north Korea posts from you somewhere as well :woot:

but we can agree to disagree, slowly you'll cross over to the capitalist corner as well :partay:

if this man was muslim this thing would have gone global. and the fact that he was muslim would have been in the title. a sad story none the less

There are bad apples in every religion. There have been acts of barbarism in the name of hindu, islam, and christain faiths. It's never the religion, it's the people that practice the religion. As with all extremists, they need to be dealt with as severely as possible. It gives a bad name to those who are a true man/woman of faith
