Why the west laughs about Putins "threats" for sanctions against EU and USA

In my view , the paper money is of no importance in modern world. The natural resources will dictate the economic progress of nations in near future and in that regard Russia cannot be ignored as it is one the richest country in terms of natural resources like oil, gas and other important minerals.

Exactly. Germany and Japan lost WW2 because they didn't have enough oil to train pilots.

Naturally, given the population size. Yours should have been at least 4 times the size of the United States'. ^^,

It should be 4x 17.25 Trillion = 69 Trillion.

Good luck tho. Honestly.

give it time, took the West almost 2000 years to match China, don't we at least get 2 or 3 hundred. :coffee:

Also in terms of national power, the difference is far less.

For example, an American soldier gets about 1,000 dollars give or take and a thousand or more joining.

Chinese volunteers soldiers have a 2 year term, then they go back to school, be it college or trade school(which actually is getting more popular lately). Relatively they get paid, what 90 dollars a month?

NCOs get paid a lot more, but still a little bit less for an entry level, maybe 50-100 dollars less per month than an American soldier.

So while yes, US has more per say, but it's far cheaper in China. Let's look at what this money can do in a second string city. 1,000 you can rent a place for 400-500, then eat for about a month, though I'm not sure how far 400 dollars will go in a month, I know just a pack of Chicken wings frozen will cost 20 dollars.

In China, 300 Yuan can rent a small one bed room apartment in a second string city, while eating for another 300 is enough for food. Meat is "more" expensive, but if eating healthy, you can easily have 50-80 yuan left over.

Now what does that tell you, even at 10x less money we can live at about the same level as an American.

What's the difference, I think branded things, while it's far easier for an American to afford a iPhone, it will be next to impossible for a Chinese of the same caliber, but then that's what Xiaomi is there for.

I am seious about my point regarding paper bill translating into wealth. This wealth being equal to billions/trillions of paper bills that a country holds is the biggest hoax in the history of mankind. It is fake notion of wealth, the real wealth is natural resources of all kinds and the ability to utilize those resources and in my view Russia is holding both of them. Russia is no Africa which cannot utilize its natural resources and hence dependent on other nations. I understand the hidden sarcasm in your comment though, but the world has long past world war II era and now even many third world countries also have enough expertise in training pilots.

Hiroshima commemorates 69th anniversary of atomic bombing
6th August 2014 | By Agencies
Dawn.com

Tens of thousands gathered for peace ceremonies in Hiroshima on Wednesday, marking the 69th anniversary of the US atomic bombing of the city, as anti-nuclear sentiment runs high in Japan.

Ageing survivors, relatives, government officials and foreign delegates, including US Ambassador to Japan Caroline Kennedy, observed a moment of silence at 8:15 am local time (2315 GMT), when the detonation turned the western Japanese city into an inferno.

An American B-29 bomber named Enola Gay dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima on August 6, 1945, in one of the final chapters of World War II. It had killed an estimated 140,000 by December that year.

Three days later, the port city of Nagasaki was also bombed, killing an estimated 70,000 people.

Again, I don't speak Japanese never claimed to. I think I know what one of them means and I'm pretty sure I'm younger than you.

Also btw, nobody earns 600 yuan in even less than 3rd tier cities. 1,500 yuan is the bare minimal. People in those places don't pay rent, mostly because they have homes, even if they do, it's dirt cheap.

People who earn around 600 yuan, exists, but only in places that truly pays no rent, or even food most of the time. So still very similar in living situation to a 1000 dollars earning American, which still very much exist.

So you can say our 1,500 yuan is about the same as 1,000 dollars American, in terms of basic living. Since those Americans can't afford luxuries anyways, what does it really matter in terms of Gucci, and Benz.

I been to Tokyo, you guys earn more, but also way more expensive relative to Shanghai. So essentially, we live the same, except us probably better in terms of daily expenses, and you guys in terms of luxury items with brand names.

Thanks for your input Genkaysis-senpai!

Btw, when i say senpai, it does not denote if you are older than I, it is an honorific. When japanese call someone senpai, we are acknowledging that person's skills, excellence , as something worthy of being applied to one's own life.

I admire the villages in China, the country side et al. It reminds me of some of the rural areas of Japan.

Cost of living is, as you said, far more attractive in China than in Japan. Everything is too darn expensive in Japan. If I had to compare cost of living here in New Jersey (USA) to back in Sapporo(JP), USA is cheaper hands down. More so in Tokyo, especially in Ginza. That is where the rich of the rich are accommodated.

Regards,

LOL! I love UK's top hat. ^^,

Well, i am not laughing.
I want deescalation, instead we get more and more escalation.
In the end, it will be ordinary European citizens both in the west & east who will have to pay.

.
You are wrong as usual. The BRICS GDP combined is not even 50% of the EU GDP.

EU GDP is 17 trillion.

China GDP is 8 trillion
Russia GDP is 2 trillion
India is 1,8 trillion
Brazil is 2,2 trillion Trillion
and South Africa only 400 billion...makes combined: 14,4 trillion...

And what do you need a military power for? We have nukes and technologies like GMO that you don´t even know. Beside that Brazil is a western country and would always join us if the shit hits the fan. They are european and christian.

+ add the fact that BRICS is basicly only China. The rest is irrelevant.

The only one who lost in iraq are the iraqi civilians...

If you need a weak country like india for support you know you are in the abyss.

lol

This was the 2012 figure.

The 2013 figure:

China: 9.3 trillion
Brazil: 2.25 trillion
Russia: 2.1 trillion
India: 1.88 trillion
South Africa: 0.351 trillion

The total GDP was 16 trillion in last year, and it will definitely exceed 17 trillion by this year.

Exactly, that's why some people claimed that a little country with no resource like Japan is richer than Russia is simply beyond my imagination.

The fact is that Russia is rich, and don't get fooled by the mere GDP figure.

Yes a country is capable of being self-sufficient as long as it has sufficient natural resources and has the knowledge to utilize them.

A fact which a lot of people in US may not know.

The surface area of Russia is bigger than the surface area of pluto. Both have ~17million sq kms area. Imagine the resources it has. USA can only imagine !
