Why the west laughs about Putins "threats" for sanctions against EU and USA

. .
This was the 2012 figure.

The 2013 figure:

China: 9.3 trillion
Brazil: 2.25 trillion
Russia: 2.1 trillion
India: 1.88 trillion
South Africa: 0.351 trillion

The total GDP was 16 trillion in last year, and it will definitely exceed 17 trillion by this year.

I didn't notice this fact about BRICS.:eek:

The only fact about BRICS is that that most of you guys live on a level that even an HARTZ IV guy in germany would protest against.

Is presenting statistical fact disparaging?

My good friend Nihonji, though you know i appreciate yournhibleness/politeness and constructive discusions on here(i learned alot from some of your economic posts), however, i must agree with Isaacnewton(another economist i suppose:-).) that what you wrote was kind of trolling, which is unusual coming from you, unlike other memebers who always troll.lol
Dont let yourself become like the rest of the arrogant members on here, i know its hard not to, judging by posts/members on this forum. So please brother refrain from trolling next time. You and Chinese dragon are the only memebers i admire for their humbleness/politeness and constructive posts/comments on here, so i dont want to loose you.lool . :-)

coming to the topic, its true judging by population China is just too huge. mathematically it should be 9 times bigger than Japan and 4 times the U.S. However you also have to consider the context, China had, for most of the last two millennia, the world's largest and most advanced economy, at that period Japan was just a small irritant little brother as well. However after it closed/isolated itself from the war and subsequent invasion by foreign powers, it declined to a state of poverty/collapse It wasnt until it opening up in the 80s that it truly started picking up and trying to make for the lost time. Anyway history is full of ups and downs, rise and fall of empires. from Rome, to Greece, to Egypt to persia, to ottoman, Mongols, British empire to U.S now etc. The thing is no country can stay on top forver, no matter how hard it tries to. The only thing a country a country can do is try to stay on top for as long as possible, which is what the U.S is doing currently. However i believe the U.S wont stay on top forever either, maybe in 20 or 30 years from now another country will occupy that spot. Its a never ending cycle.

So its not good laughing about another country GDP (who even though has a large population, is still bigger economically than yours and will keep growing even more in future). so lets be more practical/level headed my friend Nihonji.
No hard feelings, i just like being honest.:-)
