I have noticed that recently we have had a lot of posts that have been ethnic centric and racist. These have been leaving a bad taste in the mouth for readers like me.

Mods, what is the forum policy on posts like this?

I am not saying that a little bit of competition is bad, we can definitely jostle about which city is better, who is more patriotic, etc.,

But I don’t think it ought to be okay to be racist and pejorative against an ethnic group if they are Pakistani. I don’t think it’s good for the country and frankly it’s immoral and unethical too.

What are your thoughts?

Ah everyone's feeling tense I guess, taking out their anger like this - happens unfortunately
It's bad, but what can you do? - although we should ban the one's who consistently indulge in this kinda behavior

People are mistaking putting out facts for hatred..

PTI got popular in KP on their stance on drones and extra judicial killing or kidnapping
That was a non issue for Punjab till now .
Now people in Punjab are worried about extra judicial kidnapping but it was Non issue for them between 2008-2018

When someone point out this hypocrisy and fracture in society (one group of people calling an era(2012-2017) golden(in Punjab) and other black(in KP) they are called ethnic hate mongers while this is purely a geographical split and has nothing to do with ethnicity

Okay, fair enough.

It seems like this is a case of pointing out discrimination or unequal policies in treatment of different regions at the govt level.

Do you think that maybe it should be framed as this cleanly- like govt policies favoring or discriminating against a region or province?

Well minority provinces will complain
For example center granteed 2 b$ for a metro in Lahore.

It would never do that for KP or sindh
Similarly Lahore Islamabad motorway was built first even though Hyderabad Karachi motorway made more sense to build first

Though 18th amendment has solved this problem to a great extent

Nothing wrong with complaining I think.

I am just wondering how we can draw the line between letting people explain how the govt and state policies might be discriminatory to stopping it from becoming that race is backward, this race is barbaric, type situation.

I think pointing out specific policies that discriminate is always good. Makes the argument tangible.

Heading towards civil war... A failed state.
Zardari needs credit for finding a solution to minority provinces complains.

Now people will say the federation was made bankrupt but I will argue the reason for that is mostly due to poor tax collection and FBR not 18th amendment

Provinces deserve 50% revenues to run health and education sector and other things..had FBR not failed in it's goals to hit 20% GDP (currently at 12%) WE would never had that problem

So, is it our fault we weren't getting blown up as well? We are hypocrites for that?

@Maula Jatt , what's your say on this?

Zardari and all the chunno munno ethnic pseudo liberals combined couldn't achieve even a fraction of what musharaf delivered without 18th amendment.

Every one is accessory to the crime of depriving the people off of the financial and administrative power at district level by deluding them with their xenophobic gimmicks .

Now if anyone is adamant on sacrificing their well being for erecting a glittery pompous fort of ethnicity its his fault. Keep staring at it from down inside the slums .

I have mixed feelings TBH, not completely wrong nor right either

On hand they like to put the blame on us but forget we are not equal in the sense terrorism was happening from fata and Afghan refugees, it wasn't happening from Lahore, interior Sindh, Southern Balochistan, Punjab

Who is going to be impacted by it? - even in KPK proper Hazarawal suffered less from terrorism than other parts of KPK
Common sense right, if army needs to go in launch an operation, it's going to be in fata not Punjab or Sindh or gilgit

If you're crying that not enough people in Punjab were blown up, it's was a police state under showbaaz, he was pro active with crime and terrorism, CTD department improved under him,
B- what was the ethnicity of most of the ttp members?- where will they go and blow up, which administive unit would be their first target to capture? Which area would face a more intense campaign?

What he is right about is - drones, we protested but maybe pressure wasn't enough , when Pakistanis were dying from foreigners drones we should have done more
B- IDP's destroyed Karachi creating ghettos all over the city, rise in crime and terrorism in the city, karachiates still complain about it
demographics of Balochistan also changed completely but that was mostly Afghans not idp

But when you sign a civil contract to be part of a Country - rejecting them for security reasons was not something that was the right thing to do - showbaaz was wrong

You jniw the irony is its either Punjab or the urban sindh which embraces others . Sindhis and Balochis dint even bother voting for pti let alone forming niazi's cm-ships in those areas .

I mean even right now the large bunch of supreme court judges supporting a principle stance in favour of pti happen to be punjabis while the afridis and mandokhyal shown their true colours at the very onset of the suo moto .
