Why some in Pakistan want to replace Jinnah as the founder of the country with an 8th century Arab

How well has that worked over the last few decades? The results speak for themselves, don't they?

The last two decades have been testy since due to the Afghan war the Saudis used opportunity and started funding extremists that attack and counterattack. We have to have Zarb-Momin against religious extremist funded especially by foreign countries. Superstition, Piri Muridi and local Mullah had turned Islam into folk religion. Now with standard Islamiat and Islamic channels people have learned abut mainstream Islam.

Why not say it clearly rather than trying to defend the indefensible, that mixing religion into education has raised a monster that devours the very foundation of the State that it now controls?

Jamat-e-Islami and Jama-Aloom-Deoband, both were rabidly against creation of Pakistan and they still are against it's existence. Look around you, what two illnesses is Pakistan inflicted with......? The roots of Pakistan's disease lie in Raiwind and not on some remote valley or hill.

The monster was created when Pakistan interfered in Afghanistan after Russian withdrawl. The Taliban effect was Talibinization of Pakistan. Saudi financing extremist Madrasahs. There was none of that until 1980s. We had Islamiat since 1950s and there was no sectarianism.

Raiwind never figured in any event until Talibanization created gun culture.

I am yet to meet these "some" individuals. These arab paranoid liberals sound too stupid some times.

These people are around and in considerable number. They don't hold much sway in the general populace but if you want to find them, start with talking to the kids in IJT, that'll lead you to bigger fish.

So raja dahirs daughters are considered ancient pakistanis shipped off to harems of arabs or indians shipped off to harems of arabs?

Answering this question will answer the op.

Actually no. As world beaters in logic gymnastics, i expect pakistanis to tie themselves into more knots.

So what happened to the Ahmadis in the mid-seventies?

What is ''Talibanization''

Talibanization is rise of rigid interpretation of Islam and attack on anything that opposes that view.

So what happened to the Ahmadis in the mid-seventies?

Qadianis attacked students of Multan medical college in Chenab Town and the consequence was less than expected since Bhutto promised a Parliamentary inquiry.

The attach on Nishtar Medical College students on the train platform in Rabwah was not the reason for the sea change in power politics based on religious grounds that was carried out in that era, well before anything happened in Afghanistan.

The attack on Muslim students on platform in Chenab Nagar opened the eyes of most Pakistanis about the Qadianism. The matter was sort of resolved by constitutional amendment by continued Qadiani provocations caused Zia to institute more Muslim laws protecting sanctity of Islam. It is Qadiani actions that caused the Chenab Nagar incident and all consequent events.
