WHY PEOPLE ARE HOMELESS IN CHINA

.
Well, that's the same argument of people who lived in car considered themselves not homeless.......

Not living in cars, but rural population in the picture for example have homes. Laid off migrant workers also have homes that they can return to back in the villages.

.
Let me assure all these "homeless" in Chinese cities got a home in their village.

Unlike US, giving people a home is a KPI for CPC anti-poverty cadre 扶贫干部. When local people are found homeless, the party boss of loss their jobs.

But sometimes, the poor village people would go to city and found themselves homeless for a few days. The police will pay send them back their village. That is reason so few homeless in China streets.

.
It would be nice if both sides stopped posting such stuff.

.
There was a time when homelessness was less visible in major Chinese cities, but that involved forced custody and many suffered abuses at the hands of staff.

It's too bad. I think it's actually not a bad concept but the execution went horribly wrong. It could have been a mandatory shelter for homeless with mental health and employment services made available to those on the street.

Well, that's depends on the "Definition" of Homeless, hence the car argument. If I can return home and I choose to beg, I would consider that homeless.

In fact if you count that not to be homeless, then you would also have to discount runaway kids that have home to go back to but not willing to because they ran away, or people who slept on the street after refusing housing offer from the government, friends and family, which about 90% of Homeless people in the west fit in this category, or 100% in Nordic country because the government is allotting Public Housing to house homeless people.

.
Well I wonder if china could stuff all these people into already present camps and teach them some worthwhile skills, win for everyone

I certainly would not consider those who choose to sleep on the street to be homeless.

Homeless is a very rare phenomena in Confucian society. Even in Vietnam Hanoi, not a lot of homeless. People always can go back to village. Relative will always give bridge loans or take these homeless in. Any relative who failed this duties will be immediately look down by extended family.

I stay in Hanoi for a long time. Almost never seen any homeless.

US has big homeless problems.

I do not know why people are ranting homeless in East Asia.

Well, then 90% of all homeless people in the western world is not homeless, and there would not be homeless people in Nordic countries or Australia, for example, because both put homeless people in public housing. Whether they choose to go or not is up to these people.

Yeah, in my case, one of my uncle is an alcoholic. His wife left him, but my other uncle give him and my nephews a place to stay. Myself and the close family support him his monthly allowance and his children studying, taken care of. The only condition is to stay away from drinking.
But I know even if he drink again there is unlikely my other uncle will kick him out. Well, he may, but his children stays

Anyone can go Hanoi or HCMC, walk one night and see how many homeless are there? Almost zero.

.
Wow , you found out 1 billion people, congrats. Come tot he US and you will know what homelessness is.
I used to be a Philadelphia cop, do you think I don't know what "Homelessness" in the US??

I am talking about what do people consider Homeless, @Zsari said if they have a home to go back to that's not homeless. Most Homeless people in the world, not just in the US, have families and friend or government assistance they can fall back to and they choose not to. That's why they were homeless in the street.

Do you even know what "Homelessness" mean??
