We have around 900-1000 heavy MBTs. Other are light and old MBTs. Some are even obsolete. HIT is making changes in phased out tanks for keeping them in service with Frontier Corps but Pakistani Armored Corps need 500-600 new heavy main battle tanks. We have total of 3000 but only 1/3rd are modern. Procurement of 500-600 will fill a large gap in order to deal with any "Hot War" or "Cold War". I think Armored Corps will maintain a number of 2200-2500 modern MBTs in future. Old technology should be phased out in good economic conditions. InshaAllah we will have a good growing economy in future.

I don't know why Navy is so neglected.

brother, Navy is also getting new submarines, frigates, corvettes, missile boats, fast attack crafts etc!

We have a good stock for our eastern borders but we are lull on western sides. We need some tanks for Pak-Afghan borders.

Pakistan is looking for light weight combat tank. Market is full of heavy weights. Pak terrain need light and effective combat machines. Army rejected M1A1 long time ago, because of its weight and other multiple factors...

They haven't shown any signs of desperation so far. It's only members on PDF that are speculating all the time. As for testing new tanks, that's what all modern competent armies do in the world if they want to stay ahead of the curve.

Than we must test assault rifles whelled APC new soldier system which we lack for decades batter utilize money on things which can make our soldiers more survivable in battlefield im not saying we need buy new tank but if we have funds better utilize first where it makes difference

Currently our tank core is fine for next 5 yrs better buy assault rifles for army which 3 decades old

8x8 wheeled APC can be used with 100 mm gun can destroy tank and where tracked APC fails wheeled can go

Army need CH 47 Helicopter for rescue and transpirting heavy duty hardware which we lack most armies have one heavy duty helo

Assault rifles are not a force multiplier. Put 8 guys with M-4 Carbines against 8 guys with Ak-47's. You would get very similar scores.

As for APC's. It's a geographical issue. Most of the military is deployed in Kashmir region where Tanks and APC's, both are useless. As for the international boundary, most of it is plains of Punjab and deserts of Sindh. A wheeled APC is completely useless for us.

I think our tactical helicopter needs are satisfied by our current Mi-17's, although they will soon become obsolete. Search and Rescue is not up high in Pakistani military. They make for good movies and have some utility in Asymmetric warfare, but if you are fighting an enemy of equal force, they are useless. Medics on the field can do a great job as first responders.

Your comment on WHEELED APC i dont agree most countries like UAE who has most desert going for german wheeled APC

WHELLED apc can be used for different usages as far as your comment on AK 47 and M 4 carbine i also disagree if it was the case than every army bought AK 47 when every gun has similar result why waste money in developing new gun

AK III is in its last developmental phrase....

FC (KPK & Balochistan) were transfered AZs and older Type 59/69s..
