Hazrat The market for MRAP is highly saturated globally, everyone is making them under license and exporting them. therefor getting a good deal on MRAP is very very easy. That is why my reasoning is to be open to a wider choice than narrowing it down to Just Turkey!!! You have completely side tracked South Africa for example.
From Turkey we don't have to deal with one company Turkey has several independent companies. We can negotiate with them.

May be money is a problem afterall!
Sorry but loosing soldiers taking care of there families treating the injured and training new ones pretty much is double the cost than doing one time investment. And we if needed should take help from Arabs or China for money to get these but we need them. Even simple AK of Darra results in death of several soldiers because they travel in crap Toyota Hilux

One type is not enough at least 3 are needed because we have different terrains and in cities roads are different also so 3 will be needed

The those who were lost were friends and family of the ones that are making the decisions. So again, may be all is not so great as you try to present it. May be there are issues that are delaying such procurement. Last week a team of army guys and a private contractor who is responsible for maintenance of our army vehicles (jeeps and stuff) had a meeting with land rover England and will be visiting there in a few months for a spare parts deal. Also there are negotiations going on with Ford. In short, the general purpose SUV type vehicles are here to stay for regular transport. It is the high threat areas that will get and which do need MRAPs and armored vehicles. Limited numbers that is. Do not expect all those Hilux and Land Rovers to be replaced for general peace area commute!
