Mostly to send a loud and clear message to the people in the White house that were seeking tension and regime change in Iran that Iran would not hesitate a moment to respond to any aggressive behavior of them in the same manner ... a show of power that we are ready to fight back ... so think twice next time that's why Iran didn't hit P8 ...

not exactly , if you study more about RQ-170 capture you realize it was not a momentary decision , it was planned for several month and the plan was monitored for sometime before the order to do it come.
it was not the case of RQ-4 . for RQ-4 order was to shoot anything that enter Iranian airspace and there was no several month of planning
