Why don’t Pakistan – China develop a joint military command?

Trust level is at all-time high and they are doing several military exercises conducting with all three arms of the forces.

Why don’t Pakistan – China develop a joint military command?
No need but more joint ventures should take place

Why don’t Pakistan – China develop a joint military command?

Every imaginable contingency has been worked out between us and China, long time ago, and is revised on a regular basis.

Why don’t Pakistan – China develop a joint military command?

Simple... Becase you both are not military ally..

Why not make Chinese, the national Language?
Why not sell-off Gwadar to China?
Why not replace Pak Military with Chinese Red Army?

Do Pakistanis even realize gradually how much they have got dependent on China?

Everything from food to electronics, electricals, defence, trains, roads, industry etc etc have come literally under Chinese control.

You can have strategic relationship with China but make sure not to be too dependent on just one nation.

India does not have capacity to understand good relations with neighboring country

  • War with china
  • War with Pakistan , steal territory
  • War with East Pakistan
  • Bad relations with Srilanka
  • Border problems with bangladesh

Pakistan on other hand enjoys warm relations with its neighbours
  • CPEC deal with China
  • Gas project with Iran
  • Gas project with central Asia
  • Good relations with Sri Lanka
  • Working relation with Bangladesh

It may become a reality as soon as CPEC starts becoming functional. Who knows all these drills are paving way for this joint military command.Seems absolutely logical.

When India was buying almost all of the military hardware from Russia, did it become totally dependent on then USSR or was it a choice? Ours and China's interests match more than anyone (sincere thanks to India for that, seriously) and China is really reciprocating more than anyone.Plus history stands witness to the fact that Chinese had always been forthcoming in almost all venus for us. So why wouldnt we fall in love with them?We can fall in love with India if it starts treating us as blood brother, rather than step brother. Having said so, Yes U are absolutely right that we shudnt become total dependent upon China for everything and thats why we are warming up with Russia plus with USA we are quite cordial these days.We are cementing ties in Africa plus looking towards unexplored EU countries. Not to forget we are engaging with Central Asian countries and looking to boost Economic, Political and Defense ties. Oh i forgot Turkey, our Big Brother in West. So plate is quite full these days and we are exploring for more space in IR.A humble start and hoping/trying to make it a big success.

All pics are from Pakistan.None clicked in China. One-sided dosti? ;)

Why isnt China reciprocating with similar goodie goodie events n pics?

First China won't want that. They do have disputes with their neighbors but none of those borders are as hot as our LOC and working boundary. Having a joint command means they would have to get involved in our conflicts and why would they want to get actively involved in these conflicts?

And our military doctrines and training system is quite different to that of the Chinese, yes it has been 67 years but keep in mind we were part of British Army. Our threat perception is different as well, we see India as an existential threat while for China its just a regional rival that can not pose a serious security threat on its own.

Secondly if we have learnt anything from our past, let's not go down the same road in our relationship with China that we took during our affair with the US. No Cento or Seato this time around. Using Chinese help to better our economy and making ourselves self-sufficient in meeting our arms needs should be our objective. In the meanwhile Chinese can benefit from our strategic location and security of their oil supply lines in the future.

China and Pakistan follow a set of goals that overlap for some part but the direction is vastly different. China is a rising power that is looking to expand its influence slowly but surely. Whereas China's Foreign Policy has always been very placated and somewhat conformist, their military growth has not. As China cements itself as a regional power, its global aspirations will only grow. In contrast, Pakistan has no global aspirations, our defence needs are limited to ensuring minimum credible deterrence against India while maintaining an effective presence on the Afghan border. In such a situation, we can cooperate with the Chinese in various areas such as intelligence, counter terrorism, anti-piracy and special operations but creating a joint command would cause unnecessary military-bureaucratic clutter and achieve no note worthy goals. The chances that China and Pakistan will ever need to cooperate under a joint command are slim because China's military might far exceeds our own, the disparity between out military strength means that they probably won't need our help unless for some specialized Ops.

ECO, ASEAN, OIC are major alliances and corporation movements but it depends on a country to make the alliance effective. Pakistan, Turkey, Iran can make ECO as a game changer but will power is needed. No government in Pakistan was enough sincere to industrialize Pakistan inorder to reduce its imports and increase exports. Agriculture is also at brink of collapse.

CPEC is a un announced military alliance between Pakistan and China. You will see it in near future. An attack on Pakistan will be considered as an attack on China. CPEC is a strongest bond.
