Why defence.pk on Facebook is so different than the Forum?

our aim on the forum is not to get ''thanks'' .. well some members are publicity w ores .. but for many , the need was to have comprehensive data in a concise form on the net-- info pool threads as such are not present anywhere else on the web.. unless theyve copy pasted everything from a-z

Two things i mentioned in the OP
1. Members are rudely redirected towards the "info pools".
2. Member are not allowed to discuss matters.
These two points are still valid.......and so far despite a plethora of excuses they have not been denied, which proves my point valid. Thanks!

Yeah should be renamed as defencepedia.....wait don't we have wikipedia...for such.....?. On a serious note not undermining the utility of such threads, but they are used as an excuse to bar discussion which is counter productive. Not to mention there are scores of people who don't like to go through a barrage of literature/data to find some thing that has a few words answer. Similarly even if some one has questions after going through "info pools" they are not provided enough space for further discussions. Needless to remind the obvious that not every one has the same comprehension skills so the "trends" should be to accommodate all, instead of fortifying the restrictions .

Would you sit around debating whether a square has 4 sides and not 3? Yes, I'd gladly close such threads and discussion. Besides, beyond the basics, we'd like to have a high quality database at our forum, if more members read it, the general level of discussion would progress beyond what it is often now.

You do get your knowledge from elsewhere on the internet right? Books? Articles? Wikis? Datasheets? Multimedia? If yes, then the same principle applies here, if you asked me a question about the JF-17 that I know the answer to, I could point you to some source on the internet, or I could refer you to that thread that compiles info and sources in a brilliant way that goes above and beyond answering your questions, especially if those questions are out of place in certain threads.

Sometimes members are discussing something at a higher level, a newbie comes along and asks an innocent question, answered a thousand times before, the entire thread changes direction, that's not good for discussion. At PDF we want to go a bit beyond the usual youtube or fb level comments. That's why we have info pools, TT members and professionals.

Those 3 million represent a wider public opinion of Pakistan than the few "Cyber Intellectuals" here, wont you agree?

On the forum we have more Indian members than the Pakistani's, so if we are to go with your "reasoning" then it means that despite all the trolling, Indians are considered more "forum worthy"............Seriously?

Upon using search engines with a few keywords related to discussions, sometimes to confirm what I suspect to know or for new info, I often found myself on your info pools, many times in fact.

Please note that, while I may or may not be a skeptic, I have never been part of PDF management, and my opinions are totally mine, and as fair and impartial as humanly possible, always.

As to the topic of this thread, the best way to make any suggested improvements to the way things are being run here on the forum is to open up a thread in GHQ or PM a member of the management and put forth any proposals that you might have for due consideration.

As much as I disagree with a lot that is said and done here, they are not totally deaf (just hard of hearing ) and do listen to good ideas.

Yeah probably we notice here. I think differences is FB's page is more capable to handle well and all neat discussions but PDF can't handle many trolling and insulting to our country and pride unfortunately, that's why more millions Indian trolling here than Pakistan in every page of thread to mix up all the discussions and many off-topics.

The purpose of the thread was to highlight my observations for every one to see and not just the management. A common dilemma with Pakistani folks: point out the errors in their work and they take it as an offense. Lastly, the authority over the thread still lies with admin and they can delete it or move at will, till then I'll consider it apt and legit. GoodDay!

I practically live by the supernatural experiences/stories. Somehow i find this world very enchanting. Djins live just like we humans do, they have the similar social structures and religions............So there are good ones and evil one's. I guess i am one of the good ones. Analysts are not part of management, and I gave that up as well voluntarily. Only Admins/Mods and Chairpersons are. My neutrality is before everyone to see.

Back to the topic, public criticism and speaking one's mind is fine. I may disagree with your views, but not to your right to air them. However, improving the forum is quite another story, and an arduous task for sure. I do not envy those who try to do it.

You didn't get my point. There is more Indian bashing on facebook's defence.pk than here......over there admin is part of it.

Well that great thing.At least Defense PK on Facebook is dominated by Pakistanis whereas every other Pakistani newspaper's pages on Facebook is dominated by Indians just see express tribune or Dawn's pages on facebook.These 2 pages are dominated by Indians.They bash Islam and Pakistan on those pages.At least we have a clear upper hand on Defense pk's Facebook page.

I concur, and i was hoping that we should have been able to rule defence.pk too. Sadly, this seems highly unlikely. With tons of antiIslamic and antiPakistan material all over the internet, we Muslims and Pakistani's are still not putting our platforms to positive use especially to neutralize the propaganda.
