There are plenty of area which China military taking the lead and clear missile is the area of Chinese expertise with ASBM like DF-21 and DF-26. It isnt hard to be convinced of China PL-15 capabilities over AIM-120.

I don’t doubt that China can make great military tech, but a lot of its defamation is due to stupid biased fanboys like the ones around here that think China makes magical alien technology and has left behind US and Europe in the dark ages. It makes Chinese tech look like it’s propaganda and it makes it difficult to have a good discussion about it because they’re never willing to admit that anyone other than China can make good tech too. China is but a competitor among the others, all of whom make great stuff.
China still has a ways to go before it surpasses either of them, but it has definitely caught up fast and continues to improve.

The problem here is that China’s legacy flankers still rely on twist cassegrain radars/relatively backwards avionics, which gives the J-10s an advantage in the BVR. Nope. F-16V lacks DSI, IRST, whole bunch of things J-10C has.

1. DSI helps reduce RCS of an aircraft but what about other characteristics? J-10C have canards, external payload and standard engines which will increase visibility of the jet fighter.

There are different ways to reduce RCS of an aircraft. DSI is insufficient tout on its own.

2. F-16 Block 70/72 can be equipped with Legion-ES solution (embedded option), and Legion Pod (payload option).

If you have frontal control surfaces you don't have rear control surfaces. Canards on its own does not increase RCS. The deletion of rear control surfaces offsets increase in RCS due to addition of frontal control surfaces. J-10 has lower RCS than F-16 due to DSI.
