Hence why I find it inappropriate to blame the whole West or Europe for that matter.

They conquered part of the Ottoman Empire, and then they setup a mandate instead of annexing the territory. The goal of the mandate was to prepare for self-rule. Really greedy wasn’t it?

The British promised the jews a homeland, which is not the same as a country.
Part of the British mandate of Palestine became Jordan.
The fate of the other part was decided in a UN vote, where the British abstained from voting.
