Why Bangladesh’s Matarbari port is a game changer for India

These loans are primarily targeted at enhancing Indian transit with North Eastern seven sister states.

Plus contractors and project workers will be Indian, they will siphon remittances to India

They do not help Bangladesh interests in any way.

You ask us to implement projects to help Indian interests on our dime - does not work.

Don't give her what she is asking.

This is mainly to help her and her henchmen.
The volume of India’s soft loans to neighbouring countries has increased from about $3 billion to almost $15 billion in the last eight years, former foreign secretary and G-20 chief coordinator Harsh Vardhan Shringla said.

Speaking at the Purvottar Swabhiman Utsav organised by the Army’s Eastern Command in Guwahati on Sunday, he said the Asian Development Bank had once marked South Asia as the least integrated region on earth.

In order to change the perception, India replaced the Look East policy with the Act East policy to incorporate neighbouring countries such as Bangladesh, Myanmar and Nepal in the plan to develop infrastructure and connectivity, Mr. Shringla said.

To achieve integration trade has to happen at an even keel first. This is simple logic.

Bangladesh will not increase integration and communication with India unless we benefit equally as well as India does.

As it is some $10 Billion a year is spent by Bangladeshi tourists to India alone. We have to recoup that money somehow (and the same goes for the rest of the $50 Billion yearly Indians are making from Bangladesh via remittances and by exports of consumer goods and industrial consumables).

Hot air spewed in conferences is one thing - and actual well-meaning action on the ground is another.

Talk is talk in India, the work and action (actual overture to neighbors) is yet to be seen.

Ask Bangladeshi and Nepali people what they think about Indian promises, then all will become clear.

.
Then why your PM is in New Delhi seeking another 9.5 billion dollar loan.

I don’t know why she is asking for another 9.5 billion when she hasn’t spent the last 8 billion.

Maybe the 9.5 billion is made up of the existing 8 billion?

None of the shiny projects completed under Hasina are Indian built or funded.

Big stuff has been built with Chinese, Russian and Japanese money.

You cannot fake ground realities.

India is a minor player in Bangladesh’s development.

You guys need to build enough toilets before you have the aukad to help others!!!

Fake Bangladeshi fifth columnists and flag-fakers as usual singing Indian praises here just like the bhakts they are.

If they had a stake in our people and their livelihoods (which they clearly do not) they'd sing a different tune.

Blaming "Madrasa education" when our level of literacy for 15-24 year olds (gender parity) which actually matters, is clearly equal or better than that of India. So much for "chimp IQ Lungis" and "Madrasa Chap" when Indians are as uneducated as they come.

Clear as day who the fake Bangladeshis are.

Pooh-pooh-ing our apparel industry - where India is (again) a miserable failure.

Don't you think these bhakts would love to boast about it if they had the chance, maybe a $100 Billion in exports?

They can't - because they failed. One more excuse to keep the working classes downtrodden in India.

Acting as if they are some first world country - trying to make semi-conductors. Just hilarious.
You are the fake. You are after very cheap popularity. You bash India in every thread, send very long internet links. Not your own writing because you have little capability to do that.

When will you send Moon missions like India has been doing? Your tiny brain cannot perceive this and you start talking about toilets in India as if our Golden BD is full of toilets.

Come on @Bilal9, you can do better.
I have never seen an idiot like @Bilal9 who himself campaigns for his own promotion to the post of a Moderator. He lacks virtue like neutrality. He has one track mind unfit to be a moderator.

You sound butt hurt.
Are not you yourself butt hurt after reading the reality I wrote? Come and challenge what I stated.

Giving a "ha-ha" reaction because one doesn't have an argument to prop up.

The Indian loan that has been given to Bangladesh has nothing to do with Bangladesh's development rather it has everything to do with the transit facilities that have been given to India. This loan will be used to build road/rail network that is needed for India to use transit facilities through Bangladesh. Bangladesh will repay this loan with interest which means we are building this road/rail network for India with our own money. Simply put, we are giving handouts to the Indians.

India did not pay one cent for the construction of this project and can derive no benefit out of this.

Ignore this idiot.

Japan is funding several projects in Bangladesh for the purpose of integrating the Seven Sisters with Bangladesh’s economy.

You don't have $50 billion in reserves. How can your 12,55,960 tourists spend 50 billion dollars? That is almost $3981 per head.

You are misconstruing what I said.

I said India makes around $50 billion a year from Bangladesh from medical and retail tourism, goods exports to our market and remittances by illegal Indians working in Bangladesh remitted to India, all combined.

And there are estimates on what our tourists spend in India.

That is known by your govt.
