Why Bangladesh defense forces had not opted for Turkish drone

where the hell you found I said drone ONLY defense solution????? As usual dont concoct idiotic theory and try to use false narrative around it. Drone plays significant and multi-facet role in contemporary warfare and its role will increase not decrease. Go study on the topic before making comments.

Understood, General.

Not really .... your response merely proves your limited grasp on issue as usual.

Drones have limited range and firepower..... wont have operational freedom between equally matched adversaries. In the BD scenario we will be victims of drones without adequate sam cover and an effective air force. Both our adversaries are geographically too large and we too weak for drones to make much difference. Only reason drones have made any impact in Azerbijan is because NK does not have an airforce.

BD needs the ability to secure the command and control installations for the drone fleet before it can aquire drones.

Don't bother replying to this guy.

Back in 2010 he was name calling anyone and everyone, who advocated for preparing defence against Myanmar. In his words- Myanmar is friendly to Bangladesh and anyone suggesting Bangladesh needs to prepare against Myanmar is an Indian Dalal.

Fast forward 10 years, the truth about Myanmar is out. Such a tactical military genius he is. Now he is lecturing others about military strategy. Ridiculous!

Are you another BAL cheerleader like rest of us ? Too bad !

In a recent interview, a Lt. Gen of Bangladesh Army, who was forced out of service, revealed that india even obstructed forming a defense policy. If you observe, almost all of Bangladesh defense purchases over years are generation(s) behind and are NON OFFENSIVE. Keen strategic observers would know what that means.
Please define "offensive" equipment and list what offensive equipment was procured by non-BAL governments so that we can identify the best era of defense modernisation in BD history in order to set a benchmark.

looks like you have not learned anything in last 10 years. Geo politics and situation are drastically different between 2010 and 2020. There were no genocide and not overly aggressive Myanmar. Myanmar at that point was an potential opening point for South-East Asia and Chinese transport connectivity, which india always opposed. 10 years later that geo-political dynamics changed and destroyed by awami league regime india subservient activities. Since learning and adapting is not your thing, lets make some exchange, I will give you 2010 exchange rate.

I know he has opened this thread to single out BAL and work backwards from his forgone conclusion of "BAL bad" but in the process he has inadvertently shed light on an important issue of defence policy which is worth discussing.

To this day we do not have a concrete defence policy. Hardware is procured in a whimsical manner with little regard for standardisation across the three services and ToT.

Other than you no one mentioned any such thing...faux outrage as a distraction mechanism is childish.

As usual dont concoct idiotic theory and try to use false narrative around it.

What theory...pray elaborate...

No one is arguing otherwise....

You started the thread with a complaint as to why BD is not really looking into it....

Generally ppl have stated because it is a step beyond our current capability. Until we can secure the infastructure that supports drones and have the ability to secure the skies against the enemy, drones wont be that effective. The attrition rate wont justify their usage.

Why Bangladesh Armed Forces hadn't opted Turkish drones? Because our armed forces didn't want any Gamat-Golapi cheer-leading girl to get "chummah-brotherhood" type orgasm. Four floods in one year are more than enough for BD. 😄

Anyway jokes aside, like @Beast said previously Turkish drones weren't completely successful in Libya, Syria and Armenia. Whatever success it achieved, was possible because the operation area didn't have sufficiant air defense coverage. I guess the Gamati-Golapi minion didn't want to listen what the Chinese PDF member said cause she is too busy about "BAL Bad-India Bad" slogan here. 😄

From the news sources and footage it looks like Syria took down 10, Armenia took down 3-6 and 2 (before conflict) and Libya officially claimed to take down 28 although unofficial source says the number is 16. I will just put the Libyan info (2020) here cause there are too many links and if i put them here it will be a mess. Anyone is welcome to search the internet, specially the one lecturing others to research and study.

Why the Turkish drones saw success in those area? From the footage it looks like the soldiers lacked MANPAD, AAA and sufficient SHORAD and radar coverage. This is the main reason why Armenians are getting fucked by Turkish drones. It's also notable that Azeri forces used Bayraktar TB2 for mainely target acquisation while Israeli kamikaze drones took out the target. I would like to see how Turkish drones perform against our neighbors who has full V/SHORAD capability.

Also Anka, Bayraktar TB2 has some western components like Canadian MX-15D, Austrian and German engines (German one's probably now under Chinese ownership) which can fall under sanctions. They still haven't employed their own developed tech yet to replace them.

Turkish Anka UCAV cost same like MQ-9 UCAV. Only export success Tunisia paid even 10 million more for per Anka UCAV for ToT. Wonder how will they utilize it. A Wing Long 2 with a ground station cost only $4 million which is lot cheaper than Turkish one and it's performance and weapon payload much better than Turkish UCAV. Wonder "neighboring country or regime subservient to neighboring country" will be responsible or not if armed forces choose Chinese UCAV. 🤔

If we consider BAF's and BA's UCAV tender Bayraktar TB2 doesn't even qualify. Anka only qualifies in army's tender. Anyway it's still not clear who won the BAF tender and if we don't buy Turkish drone now doesn't mean we can't buy it later.
