Whole Pakistani Nation Gone To Middle East

Pakistan Ambassador to Libya Jamil Ahmed Khan briefing the journalists said that 30-50 thousands Pakistanis would be recruited by Libya in the backdrop of Asif Ali Zardari’s recent visit. Libya is the country which betrayed Pakistan rather sold its reputation by opening its mouth on the nuclear issue. When General Musharraff visited Malaysia, the nation learnt through our newspapers that the Malaysian government had announced plans to recruit 100,000 Pakistani workers amid an acute labour shortage. A few months back Asif Zardari visited (perhaps Malaysia) a similar type of news repeatedly we read in our newspapers. Last year it was also read that Japan was to recruit thousands of Pakistanis.

It was Benazir’s second tenure. I was then employed in the Gulf State of the Bahrain in a big government department. The Overseas Pakistanis Minister came to Bahrain and visited our Department. The Head of the Department told the Minister that there were 7000 people of different nationalities working in the Department largest of them being then the Pakistanis. This information was translated into our ruler’s own style and language. The next day Pakistani TV and newspapers on the front page stated that the Bahrain had desired to recruit 7000 Pakistanis. Immediately telephones started coming from families in Pakistan that the younger son, son-in-law, so and so nephew should be got recruited. The Department was flooded with hundreds of applications by mail from Pakistan daily. The recruiting agents in Pakistan started collecting applications from job seekers. When we clarified our relatives home that the news was wrong and there was no recruitment plans they did not believe us. On flood of applications and offers from recruitment agents in Pakistan to our Department tell each of them was the best recruitment agent in Pakistan, the Department spoke with the Pakistan Embassy which had to face a bad face. During the last 10 years our each Prime Minister, President and Overseas Pakistanis Minister after his trip to Arab countries told the nation that how many thousands the visited government had promised to recruit Pakistanis, if all those figures are calculated today the whole nation in the record must have gone to Middle East.

Well i think so to speak in reality the title of the thread needs to be changed as it makes no sense in all due respect cuz not all of Pakistani's are going aboard & a country with such a big poplation its impossible ! furthermore, wat do you expect people that can get out for a better life are leaving weather its only the men or in some cases the lucky ones with familes as they search for a better and safer life or perhaps for the meantime as things get better at home & inshallah it shall soon. Us desi's > Indian's , Pakistani's & bangladeshi's & other south asian's are a big labor force int he arab world and the world including good jobs & business ! i sure do hope and pray that things get better in our country GOD bless Pakistan.

Look people will go wherever they feel they have a better opportunity for a good life. Filling the stomach is the most important thing in our life, everything else comes after. If we want to keep people here we need to have the ability to provide them with a good means of living.

BTW its not such a bad thing that people are going overseas. These people go overseas, make money, and then help Pakistan because of remittances. Some of them comeback after a while and they bring back their newly acquired skills.

Leave the goverment statements...they only want to save their face after a healthy foreign visit espescially when they spend millions during these visits, so to clarify they sometimes spreed false news too.

Overseas Pakistanis are helping Pakistan in diffrent ways so it's a benefit for the country, only in some fields when potential brains escape or being recruit by U.S. or western countries harm Pakistan.
