Can anyone tell me why JI is not supporting PTI in this seat and fighting against PTI also? They have better chance to win election if JI withdraw from competing PTI. In KPK both can be together but not here? Is this only for govt. there? PTI needs to learn who is true friend and who is friend only to get benefits.

1. JI is fighting for their SURVIVAL in Karachi Politics as continues Failures have completely Demotivated their supporters in Karachi who are most likely Switch to MQM making JI completely IRRELEVANT once in for all in Karachi Politics.

2. JI knew the worth of PTI in Karachi way before this Jalsa that they were mostly BRAGGING on JI's Votes in 2013 Elections when they Boycotted soon after start of Polling and now they want their Votes Back.

3. JI is Highly Mobilize, Well Structured, Middle Class and Disciplined Party which offers Same Appeal what MQM offers so it is Highly Likely that if MQM Sympathetic Vote Bank Divides then JI would take large number of them rather then PTI which is completely non Existence and are doing Electable type Politics That Karachiite have REJECTED since 1970.

Sorry i can't come to any decision or conclusion until a rigging-free election is held at NA-246..since the days of Bhutto, a fair elections hasn't been conducted since..but now a true fair election is being held..we'll see how much power Really MQM have in their own backyard without the help of Guns....

They will still win, keep in mind this is their backyard. This is where MQM was created, they have die hard supporters who will vote for MQM just because MQM commands the Muhajir vote. Sad, yes i know but unfortunately we still haven't learned to became Pakistanis and are still hell bent on playing our ethnicity card. MQM will win, but not by the same margin from what they used to. Gone are the days when MQM could rig the elections in their favour from other constituencies, MQM's 'dehshat' has long gone. They cannot use fear as a tool to rig the elections. In the next elections, PTI will win many more seats in Karachi than it did in 2013. NA246 will always vote for Altaf Hussain as long as he is alive. Even after he goes to jail, people in this constituency will still worship him.

On a side note, it does not matter who wins from this constituency because it does not change the dynamics of the national politics. You cannot compare MQM with PTI because PTI is a National Party while MQM is an Ethnic Based Party. MQM with its style of politics can never form the Federal or even a Provincial Government, while PTI has a very good chance of winning many seats in the NA and Punjab Assembly in the next election. PTI is gearing to use this slogan of "challenging the MQM" in their backyard for the real prize which is Punjab. Its a win win situation for PTI, even if they loose they will claim a moral victory to galvanize their party in Punjab, other parts of Karachi and Rural Sindh. MQM is stuck in a rock and a hard place, not only do they need to win but they need to win big which seems very unlikely.

That would be most Logical move to break MQM Vote Bank a little bit but it depends on PTI and their long EGO. There is another aspect of PTI not withdrawing is that they had lost lot of Sentiments by Returning to Parliament after all Dharnas and Jalsas and Creating Hype of this Election about Breaking Fear and blah Blah can MOTIVATE the Supporters of PTI back so they wont Back Down only to create hype of Bravery out of this Elections to keep their Supporters in Punjab and KPK Motivated.

I don't think MQM will cross 60,000 unless some miracle happens. When own candidates speaks that he don't know how he got 1 Lac 40k votes then you know what I mean ......

Sympathy Factor that MQM gained within last one Month and Establishment's Agents Hype that PTI gained has been working in MQM's Favor now and this was the most Stupid move from Imran Khan to contest the Elections because if he Lose this one he lose Karachi once in for all as PTI is riding on very Weak Foundation which can Collapse quite Easily because PTI doesnt Represent any SENTIMENTS in Karachi while JI and MQM represents lots of Sentiments in Karachi. That is why both JI and MQM are RESILIENT Parties and are able to Mobilize and retain their Support base in very Bad situations as well. Karachi is not the city which Parties like PTI can Handle so they are just a temporary Phenomenon which Appear with Hype and Fade away with the same Hype as well. The Quick Approach doesnt work in Karachi and PTI need to understand that and need to work to promote Interactions of Supporters and Leaders of the parties at all times if they want some share of a City.

In 2002, MQM got 53000 vote in same constituency .. Are you expecting more numbers. ...? how..? Sorry I can't include Nabeel Gabol 2008 result here and you know why... And what he said about result .

In 2002 there was Prevalent Factor of MQM Haqiqi in Liaqatabad and other areas of NA 246. Karachi like rest of Pakistan was not Political ACTIVE like today and also Unity of Religious Parties along with Anti USA and Pro Afghan Taliban sentiments were the reason for low votes of MQM.

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain has asked Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran to quit the race for by-elections in NA-246 to save his face.

Addressing party workers here Sunday night, Altaf Hussain advised Imran to withdraw his candidate Imran Ismail in favor of MQM aspirant Kanwar Navid in order to save face from defeat.

Meanwhile, Altaf Hussain welcomed independent candidate Mehfozyar Khan in the party, who withdrew from the race for NA-246 in favor of Kanwar Navid and announced to join MQM.

Altaf thanked Mehfozyar for his withdrawal, saying that it was the triumph of ‘Haq Parasti’ (truth). He also welcomed Mehfozyar in MQM and said that he and Kanwar Navid will not disappoint people.
