Who Needs An Islamic State?

a simple question just i did in other thread were minority oppressed in madina during PROPHET'S PBUH era.

Only the minority tribes can tell us that --and judging from the fact that the minority tribes continued to be "minority" tribes, it does suggest that they did not fare well - Anyway, Median is was a tribal entity and the events you relate best left in the 7th century tribal Arabia.

You guys seem to have a problem realizing that you are not in the 7th century - though we wish for you, that you were - you would be happier.

The country claims to be an Islamic country .... It wants to ensure its Islamic outlook.

In the US a secular country only an American born person (not including Obama) can become a President. Where is the equality in that ?

In Britain only a certian family has the right to the throne and holds the POSITION of HEAD of STATE.... where is the equality in that ?

But suppose a Islamic state ruled by a Caliph gives protection and rights to all its citizens irrespective of religion.... and gives equal opportunity to everyone barring some military and high government posts .... what is wrong with that ?

u are mixing two different things, i m not talking abt immigrants, i m talking abt minorities. i think only those countries should declare a single state religion where 100% population belongs to one religion and other ppl of diff religions are not allowed to enter the country.

And yes, in the US and other secular societies, citizens are equal before the law - Something no theocracy can lay claim to. You suggest that a single family has a right to hold the position of Head of State and that somehow means that all are not equal before the law? The same law applies to the English monarch as it does to any citizen. Now whether Monarchy is an anachronism or not, is a different question -- Yes, Monarchy is an anachronism.

No, it's unacceptable because Citizens are not equal before the law - A theocratic state is essentially an idiot proposition, after all, which sect will impose it's theology? Which sect's versinof "Divine" law prevail? And how can citizens who are not members of the religion or ruling sect find the applicability of another religion's law or another sect's version of the law, be seen as offering equality before the law?

offcourse i would be happy if i was with them at that time, and thanks but no thanks that u said that even PROHEPT PBUH didnot treat the minority well. Good for u and now i know why u call for plurism ( which i already knew lol ), U got another islam in ur mind that was not delivered by him

If the minorities were treated well, how come they continued to be minority?? Why did they not accept Islam? Why did they not accept the prophet-hood of the prophet ?

We cannot take any answer except that of the minorities, with regard to how they were treated - but either way, it's irrelevant, we are after all, not suggesting that we live in a tribal society in the 7th century Arabian desert.
