What's new

When you attack one Muslim, you attack all Muslims

.
Err.... the Buddha was an atheist, so you are in fairly good company.

That's what I meant. Buddha explicitly rejected the idea of a creator God, and specifically rejected the idea that he was a God.

But on the other hand, you would be shocked to see how Chinese people practice Buddhism. We worship Buddha as a God (even though he is technically a Buddha not a God), we also worship Guanyin as a Goddess (even though she is technically a Bodhisattva not a God).

Along with hundreds of other "deities" from Taoism and Chinese folk religion that have been merged into the Chinese style of Buddhism, and worshiped as Gods.

You would be shocked. The Buddha himself would be shocked. Chinese Buddhism is polytheism in every sense of the word. :D

I believe the term is "Syncretism" (i.e. the merger of separate religions and their traditions), and there is no better example then East Asian Buddhism.

Most Buddhists today practice Mahayana Buddhists, very few practice Theravada(Hinayana) Buddhism. The reason is not difficult to understand. Buddhism is an extraordinarily complex religion in its understanding of philosophy. Most people are incapable of handling such complex thoughts. It is why they take refuge in direct worship to a deity. True of Jainism & Upanisadic Hinduism also. As Adi Shankara one of the most famous Hindu philosophers said," one should not burden every mind with ideas that it cannot handle. If they want to pray to a deity, they are welcome to. It is pointless but harmless."

The most successful religions are those who have kept their philosophy as simple as possible :).

I feel sorry for the Chechen guy that were being set up by the corrupted government.

Very true. It is hard for the average person to wrap their mind around the original concept of Buddhism. The only reason I know about it is because I took the time to study the original concepts like the Noble Eightfold Path, which Chinese Buddhists would not even know about.

From personal experience I know that East Asian Buddhism is filled with all sorts of Gods and deities. Many of them a merger of old Taoist deities merged with Buddhist ones, the most famous being Guanyin.

I'll tell you that Chinese people are very opportunistic when it comes to Gods. We have the God of doorways (Menshen), the God of the kitchen (Zaojun), the God of anything you like. Anything that can help out in the current situation.

Gamblers in Hong Kong for instance are very found of Wong Tai Sin even if they are not religious.

@Chinese-Dragon, You might have heard about the great Indian Buddhist philosopher Nagarjuna, probably the single greatest Indian philosopher. His ideas are incredibly complicated ones & to expect normal people to be able to understand & follow such ideas would be almost crazy to ask.

Nagarjuna - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Nagarjuna -- Nagarjuna, Buddhist Philosopher

Madhyamika -- Madhyamika Is a Cornerstone of Mahayana Buddhism

Sunyata, Shunyata -- Sunyata, or Emptiness, and Mahayana Buddhism - :)

I've heard of him, his name in Chinese is "Longshu" (literally Dragon tree, probably in reference to the nagas).

But I haven't read much of his philosophy. I'll try doing that now, since I have an interest in these subjects.

You can not twist the logic to suit your dialog now ...can you....or should you???

If attack on One Muslim is attack on all Muslims... then attack by one Muslim is attack by all Muslims.

What a logic. Does that mean that if one Muslim is a terrorist then all the Muslims are same?

So it's PERFECTLY ok if muslims kills each other in the most inhuman brutal ways but no Kafir is supposed to even touch a muslim even if they harm Kafirs.
That's the logic they want to employ which is HIGHLY IDIOTIC :argh:

Well .

India is supporting LTTE terrorists and Indian Tamil Nadu is supporting Sri Lankan tamils not morally but practically so its kinda weired you are talking about Muslims :)

That is also wrong i agree. But two wrongs does not make one right. If something is wrong, it IS wrong. Period.

Pakistan tends to learn the WRONG examples all the time which describes it's judgement of right and wrong. No wonder where they are leading their current and future generations

Muslims are not enough strong to bring Pan-Islam...

Pan Britanica: U kill one british (No matter where) You will be hunt down and killed.
Pan-Americana: U kill one American, USA will hunt and kill you no matter which abottabad you are hidden in...

One need power to bring there world order.. Islam is not that powerful now.. (No offence intended)

Right. I was shocked to see the post in which it was justified when a Muslim protests against the attack on Syria/Iraq/Afghanistan (even if that Muslim has nothing to do with these countries or race) etc but if a Tamil protests against Lanka for killing Tamils is like interfering in Lanka's internal matters. LOL.

@Chinese dragon : Not all terrorists have same motive. Some have anti-american agenda as in this case.
