I don't know about gotra clan, but my village name is Gillan Chak, almost 99.9% are Gills, and yes we all are jatts and lots of guys from our village are in pakistan army, except my father who was in PAF

I am also a Gill. Good to see a Gill from across the border. My whole Pind is also all Gill. I think Gills must be the most numerous Gotra.

Bhuttos were 100% punjabi arains settled in sindh few centuries ago, but now they are ashamed of their background and have assumed fake "rajput" origin which is impossible since father of ZA Bhutto Mr. Shahnawaz Bhutto himself chaired All india Arain conference, I think that is enough to clear all doubts. Well, from my understanding, the difference between biradaris and castes (i.e. Hindu) is that biradaris are basically tribes of sorts.
No one is really superior to another (although some might think so), none is/was really restricted (read: forced) to any particular profession (eg. merchants, farmers, soldiers). Most people in one biradari adhered to one profession simply because it was easy to inherit it from the family, not because society forced them.

Again, that's my an-parh understanding of it. If some parhe-likhe arkaan-e-pdf want to correct me, they are free to do so.

You are absolutely right. I am the biggest expert on punjabi tribes, castes , biradari etc. and indeed anyone in pakistani punjab can do whatever job he wants to do and no one can stop him doing that.
