Well, my friend, i'm skinny so anything helps. In the past i tryed eating alot and at other times going to the gym but neither payed off, but now i'm eating correctly and working out correctly. Although i do admit most of the weight is probably fat, i also must admit my chest and arms did get noticibaly bigger which is strange considering i just started working out recently. I bet some of it is also water weight too.

hahaha...i knew this could be a probability but could not resist messing with you.
I used to work out a lot (now not as much) and i was quite skinny as well when i started.
I know a bit about the dos and donts.

A piece of advice to you will be to not limit yourself to weight training in a gym as the only workout option.
If you start doing push ups and chin ups as well one a regular basis then it shall take you to a whole new level.
Believe me these 2 exercises do work wonders if you have patience.

The beauty of Push up and Chin up is that you do not need any elaborate setup except a chin up bar, you can do it easily in your home whenever you are short on time or cannot escape to gym due to any other reason.

Prolonged exercise sessions are also not recommended, best thing is to keep it maximum half and hour if you can.
Never feel shy to change the combination of exercises.
Rest you can walk/jog for cardiovascular exercise, very important to keep it in routine so that it becomes a habit, many skinny guys take their waistline for granted and pay the price later when they get old.

Anyways, i am no expert but i wish the lessons i learned over the course of a decade could have been used by a younger me...that's the irony of life, when you gain experience you are getting a bit old to get the maximum out of it.

Well said sir.:) My father told me almost exactly the same things a couple of years back when i planned to join a gym nearby.

Jogging is a must i would say.
Prolonged sessions will cause the lactic acid to accumulate in the muscle system and it will do more harm than good.
