it was the people of the subcontinent who put down any rare mutiny. heck even the fabled Afghan victories against the UK are nothing but myths.

even when it looked as if afghanisatan was an independent country, it was not. its foreign policy was dictated by the Crown. it also served as a bulwark against the Tsarist ambitions to reach gwadar.

the onliest place that got freedom thru a fight was GB, even that was a fight against the dogra singhs, and it was led by a Briton.

one does not need to explain a magical thinking frame, he is also operating from within a rigid Abrahamic frame which informs his opinions on magical subjects such as god as so on...

also, just FYI, your ideas about free everything for everyone.... colonies on mars, a society that evolves beyond greed, the dissolution of the money system, galactic communism, people moving about in cyclocopters etc.. that is also very much a magical thinking frame.. just not doable at this moment in space and time.

1. Not free everything but the basic necessities being free like in many current and past Socialist societies and with the non-basic necessities being available through an evolved money system because despite simplifying technologies like 3D Printing, Vertical Farms and lab-grown meat many items cannot yet be made available for free through some futuristic tech like molecular replicators. Items even in a newly installed almost Communist society will need to have a money system to compensate for the labor. Maybe money system can never be abolished but it can certainly be evolved so that at least there is the realization of one of the Communism desires of abolishment of economic classes ( rich, middle, poor ) while also leaving space for private companies which can sell products and services. That is what I propose in this thread.

2. About Mars, SpaceX has a pending approval for next month for an orbital test of its Starship + Super Heavy launch rocket + passenger spaceship system. SpaceX has said that it is possible for an unmanned landing on Mars of the Starship by 2024 and a manned landing as early as 2026. Even if it doesn't happen in 2026 then it will by 2030 and by 2040 there will certainly be a few settlements on Mars. And by 2030 there will be other space organizations - government and private - which will adopt the simplifications of SpaceX and evolve their own designs and even innovate on their own. There is already another American company, Relativity Space, which is building rockets through 3D Printing and the company is building the Terran R rocket which is planned for first launch in 2024 and can carry 20 tons to low Earth orbit and which is meant to be scaled for Mars transportation.

3. About society evolving beyond greed, greed is relative. One may have greed for nice pottery and that is a reasonable thing and should be made available to the one desiring those items in a socio-economic way that is comfortable for him or her. But greed that is understood to create disharmony and injustice should be abolished. You will agree on this.

4. About cyclorotors, that first free flying prototype by that Austrian company is a down-scaled model of the company's taxi vehicle project. The taxi may come out in two years or so IMO.

He may derive his argument from an Abrahamic frame but the frame is not rigid. It is just a simplifying one. One to discard the unnecessary complications. One which originally was a clean slate approach.
