Keeping up the theme of breakfast.

Greek yogurt with some organic raspberries, walnuts and dusted with dark chocolate cocoa power.

Also, Earl Grey tea.

Sounds very healthy indeed. :agree:

You didn't post your Eid dinner pics @Avicenna .
What is the traditional eid menu in Bengali cuisine?

Its pretty similar I would say to yours.

I moved away from where my family lives so I can't give you pics of Bengali foods.

My wife is Indian, so we went to her parents place.

We had goat biryani.

Bengali Eid foods are HEAVY on the sweets which we are known for.

Also Biryani, roasted chicken, salad, and some sort of fried foods like samsoas etc. etc.

In reality, there isnt too much differnce in the foods.

Although of course, its not the same.

I will have to try this recipe for chicken next time.
The recipe seems very simple with only a few ingredients: dark mustard oil, ginger and garlic paste, turmeric and green chillies. Add chicken and salt and cover it to cook on high heat. Add fresh cilantro paste and ground black sesame paste at the end. The curry should remain green so I assume it should not be stirfried morw than 5 minutes.
Thanks for sharing, I'll try that soon. :coffee:

That spice being dry roasted in 4:20 is neither opium(!) nor poppy seeds(afu guti in Assamese), it looks like methi seeds to me.

@Nilgiri if you eat pork try substituting it for chicken, fatty chunks of pork cooked in black sesame paste is a staple for us, right up there with meat cooked with lai xaak and fermented bamboo shoots.

The curry should remain green
The way we cook traditionally, curry doesn't look green in any way. It will only look green if one has not put in enough sesame paste, and that takes away all the flavour.

This is what meat cooked in sesame paste looks like, pic for illustration from net.

Is that Gado Gado with saté (peanut) sauce?

I am surprised you know gado gado :-)

Yeah I think the sauce is rather similar with Gado Gado sauce. It comprise of egg, siomay (made from tenggiri fish and wheat), boiled tofu, boiled cole and boiled potato. You can search the word "Siomay" on google on how to make it. I ate it last night.

I have had it once and I liked it, specially the sauce and the sweet potato.
