We have the same blood running through our veins. Like it or not, we have a bond that cannot be denied and is stronger than any politics. A bond that that is older than any other civilization.

I have question and challenge for you to ponder : What will it take to normalize relationships?

The world's stage is based on compromise, and I see/ read many well educated Pakistanis here. I have never had this opportunity to be this close to the sheer numbers of Pakistanis and discuss matters of the heart, so as to speak, as this forum has afforded me. So, I would like to ask- what are we doing? we share the same race, shared forefathers and we sell ourselves, our centuries of culture- out to others?

Are you as fed up as me? do you think we are puppets on the world stage where the world laughs as they pit us against each other? Is this issue black and white or do we have a middle ground. A middle where you /us can achieve some sanity out of this insanity of being constantly at each others throat?

I don't like this constant dislike amongst us, it tires me, it sucks the energy out of me, it makes me think - WTF are we doing! do you?

Our Government may fail us , BUT lets us not fail each other here!

I respectively ask my Indian posters to listen first and respect Pakistani opinions. We've been screaming at each other for too long! -even it means you strongly disagree, LISTEN first! You can't discount the other sides feelings and emotions.

Your thoughts ?

a few other things we share that lead us back to square one

a) Ego (constant oneupmanship, inability to take the first graceful step towards friendly relations, unwillingness to compromise)

b) Let sentiments get the better of us allowing our govts. to manipulate and take advantage.

Let the Kashmiris decide their fate instead of illegally occupying their land.

So, I would like to ask- what are we doing? we share the same race, shared forefathers and we sell ourselves, our centuries of culture- out to others?

Please elaborate what you mean by the SAME RACE and SAME FOREFATHERS?

We are not the same race and neither do we share the same forefathers. Though i like Ghandi due to his peaceful approach to controversial issues.

Ok certain arguments will be put forth

We have the same blood running through our veins. Like it or not, we have a bond that cannot be denied and is stronger than any politics. A bond that that is older than any other civilization.

There will certain Pakistani who will say that they're a unique and different people and Turko Mongo land what not. Please please don't bring this into the argument, if you feel like this then don't comment

I have question and challenge for you to ponder : What will it take to normalize relationships?

The answer will be Kashmir. Wait, please listen, no I'm not going to quote Europe, but Asian countries. China and Japan, they've been civilizational enemies, and well all know what happened in WWII. STILL they at-least have excellent economic relaions. So people think first

(who knows this might even turn into an intelligent discussion)
(and no the poster is NOT talking about re-unification, so keep the akhand bharat BS out)

edit:^^^ I was correct

It rhymes with Jashmir.

Not trying to start a debate but we all know this is the main issue. There is no silver bullet though, but a solution to this age old dispute would be a huge leap forward.

Yes it's a major issue. But we can at the very least have an economic relationship, in the words of somebozo "keep the business and politics separate"

Israelis and Palestinians have the same blood running.. what is making them fight is what is making Indians and Pakistanis fight. It is called ideology!

Sorry, but these threads will not change what we feel for each other. If you want a better future, dont burden your childern with the hate. I agree, this hate is long over do, and India and Pakistan needs to leave each other alone and develop.

The whole world pretty much looks at South Asia as backwards and all India and Pakistan do is reinforce that.

People cant understand that stablity means only more prosperity for the region and its people. Image the day India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, etc have joint ventures in space, military, etc.

.
Yes we lived like friends hundreds of years ago and fought the British as one so now why can't we be polite to each other?
Both Indians and Pakistanis need to respect each other.

.
Pakistan must give up control over balochistan.

Pakistan must withdraw from kashmir

Pakistan must dismantle its nuclear arsenal.

Pakistan needs to eliminate all homegrown terrorist groups and disband the isi.

Ajtr......asking indians to do what you just listed would be like asking the pakistanis to do the above. Although, i havent elaborated like you. As a pakistani i understand you despise india and everything about it. But try to think outside the box will you?

. .
Every now & then Indian & Pakistani members come up with this thought of 'why' & 'for how long "about Indo Pak relations.

While it is natural to feel so and laudable too , it is worth accepting that we shall never reconcile to each others claims. Never mind the emotional reasons it is more for strategic and Political reasons that both parties stick to their stands.

It may pay us more to accept realities, work thru them and not against them and reconcile ourselves rather than expecting some magic event that will result in a change of heart.

.
Why do indians always start these type of useless threads?

Do you think we are actually this stupid?

india is supporting terrorism in Pakistan, they broke our mother land into 2 pieces, they insult us at almost every chance they can get, they want to destory our Country, Killed thausands of innocent Kashmrirs, our soldiers died fighting indian/terrorists/cowards...even today they are dying because of indian sponserd terrorism... and now he comes here and talks about "Peace" lol

I mean take some pride in your own country and just leave us alone.. simple.
