This is an honest question, not a rhetorical one. I would like to get your views.

What do you think needs to happen, what is the red line, what will it take for the three axes of power - the federal government, the judiciary, and the military, to get on the "same page" and do something about Karachi.

I am not including the provincial government in this equation, because currently they are the ones with the power, and they have failed.

first they have to check bhutto . if bhutto is ok and did not harmed by rain . then no action needed . rest of you termites did nto deserve anything . BTW my son is there and taking bath in rain too :enjoy:

MAKING IT A FEDERAL CITY. This city needs the attention of federal government but thanks to 18th amendment.
PPP has done enough harm and I have no idea why this party still exists in Sindh. Whatsoever, interior Sindh has chosen ppp but Karachi suffers at the end of day.

I agree, that is the scale of work needed. But how can we get that done? Unless by "post war" you are suggesting that a war is needed first. Are you?

just wait for India to attack Pakistan.

the city's infrastructure is gone. it must be depopulated to even stand a chance of continued human habitation.

consumerism in the city is rife and the people don't really think about government, law or order. they are too tired to give it a try.

its over for Karachi.

time for Gwadar now

My reading of the situation is that the reason successive federal governments have not done that is because the PPP government always threatens to play the "Sindh card". That could also mean destabilization, terrorism, etc. Do you think that is a real threat? Or are these fears unfounded?

When cars are floating PPP celebrating Asif Ali Zardari’s birthday with his picture. Woah!!!
Just understand their priorities and if one still believes, ppp can help Karachi with all this destruction is deluded so much.

Depopulation is critical. I don't understand why the Balochistan government does not build a city an hour away from Karachi (say Gadani), and slowly attract industries and commercial activities there. It would be a win-win.

100% agree. This is the only solution make karachi a federal terrority.
PPP exists in sindh because bhutto still alive :hitwall:and 2nd reason is 18 amendment.

Karachi is in Balochistan by all legal means. Just ask the government they will tell you

I think we all agree that the provincial government is the problem. But we need intervention from the other centres of power.

When the government is serious in brining change in Karachi, it will definitely face a lot of odds. BBilawal already has started wearing masks that represents Sindh to play his “Sindh card” but Karachi can’t be ignored. All the major three institutions of Pakistan have to show some guts and work on Karachi. Destruction of Karachi is destruction of Pakistan.

Outside of the imposition of Governors Rule, I don't see any avenues available till the next elections and hoping that the residents of Sindh finally start chanting Bhutto Mar Gaya instead of Bhutto Zinda Hai.
