It was true until recently of SA. But if you look at the recent development, SA is firmly tilted towards Pakistan for their safety and security.
1- Trumps salvo that SA is not paying enough to USA for its protection.
2- SA has not taken on Israel until now, because they are afraid of them and don't want to get destroyed like Iraq, Libya and Syria.
3- Sucking up to someone is not actually being a friend. It is a convenience until you get strong. SA want's Pakistan to help them build nuclear capabilities. This is what SA wants eventually from Pakistan.
4- The reason to establish a joint Islamic force is for the purpose of self-defense and stop Israel hegemony in the region. SA understand very well they cannot trust USA. USA can turn around any minute and do with the SA like it has done with others.

I think you have to understand things better. MBS started as a chum of USA exactly like Gaddafi's son was lured by MI6 while studying in the UK. West used him to change the mind of his father and Gaddafi went down after trusting the West. MBS has got the message when he was in direct threat, he understand his friends and enemies. SA is definitely changing their policies gradually. They cannot do it immediately, they don't have the strength at the moment. They buy state of the art gear, but lack personnel to use them in a worthwhile way.
They probably have edge over Israel in the type of aircraft they have, but can they stand against Israel airforce!!

Bro, I understand the Arabs better than you can ever imagine. SA is doing what SA needs to do for its security. If they still suck up to Americans, it would be their own fault, they would face the consequences.
