Really waiting for the 'screwed list'. If I hive the list of American and Russian 'screwed' projects, it will be a long list. Or DRDO has has to be successful every time even if it is an Indian R&D org and should develop all the projects with fraction of money than western countries?

Agreed..but DRDO can surely be made more effective . IF the reason for a failure is technical then it is understandable but if it is due to corruption then it needs to be taken care of .

the DRDO has the capability to design and develop ICBM's but GOI will not allow such a thing as they lack strategic hunger technically with a 180KG MK4 RV on a Agni V that would be an ICBM because with the Agni missiles the lower the payload the longer the range

Umm...tejas is being developed by HAL. Not DRDO. Get the basics right.

I used "being developed" in a coloquial manner, not to refer to the development stage of the project. Hence the present continous tense and not past tense as in your sentence. The current delays are entirely from HAL, not ADA. But fine, if you want to score a shot at me with that. In any case, DRDO had nothing to do with it, and it is ridiculous to see comments like this floating freely everywhere, that "I have lost confidence in DRDO because of tejas". You might as well blame DRDO for bad investments by Life Insurance Corporation.

DRDO isn't the failure,it's people like you who are the biggest failures of India.Name one single project apart from Trishul SHORADS which DRDO did not deliver and that too in shoe string budget?????????Even the Trishul is not a complete failure as its duel pulse rocket motor and datalink has gone into Barak 8 MRSAM.People like you are good for nothing except base less criticism for hard working people.

Shri Avinash Chander, Distinguished Scientist, Programme Director, SFD and Director, Advanced Systems Laboratory (ASL) has assumed the charge of CC R&D (Missiles and Strategic Systems) wef 03 May 2011. He is an Eminent Scientist in the field of Missiles and is the Chief Designer of Long-Range Missile System in the country. He has successfully delivered three long-range weapon systems namely A1, A2 and A3.

Some of his management initiatives include technology mapping in strategic segments. Govt Owned Company Operated (GOCO) concept for production of critical inputs for missile systems. Concurrent production methodology to reduce developmental time cycles and identifying key technology growth areas.

He joined DRDO in 1972 after completing his graduation in Electrical Engineer from IIT Delhi. He obtained MS in Spatial Information Technology from JNTU, Hyderabad. He is a Fellow of Indian National Academy of Engineers and Convenor, Sub-Committee of Aerospace Section, Fellow of System Society of India, Fellow of Andhra Pradesh Academy of Sciences, Fellow and Vice-President of Astronautical Society of India and Chairman of INSARM & ISAMPE, Hyderabad Chapter. He has received numerous awards and honours in his career like DRDO Scientist of the Year Award (1989), Astronautical Society of India Award (1997) in the field of Rocketry, AGNI Self-Reliance Award (1999), Dr Biren Roy Space Science Award (2000), DRDO Award for Path-Breaking Research/Outstanding Technology Development (2007), Outstanding Technologist Award (2008) by Punjab Technical University, DRDO Technology Leadership Award (2008) and Outstanding contribution towards National Development Award (2011) by IIT, Delhi.
