Mate what I have posted is about all I know and just about everything my contacts were willing to share with someone like me. And let me tell you these guys were very cautious in telling me he simplest of details- they were very aware of the secretive nature if Indian SOFs and didn't wan to say much at all. It is interesting because I had spoken to the exact same guys about the Polish SF's acquisition of the SCAR and they had been so open about this sale, they told me exact numbers that were being discussed, the units they would go to, the exact variants and the exact accessories desired. In his instance almost nothing! I think his is quite telling wrt India and their SOFs.

I will be sure to tell you if I ever find out more but in the words of one of my friends- "don't hold your breath!!"
Definatly. I know information is scares. No probs. More over we know you will share it when you get it. :D

We would love to know more about the gun but honestly none of us has any info on it.

There's is none except the fact that it is quite similar to the F-2000, and that the development was completed by May. In any case, it is the only gun that appears to meet that loooooooong list of specs they have put in the GSQR, are there any other?

I disagree mate.
If F-INSAS would have been ready then there was no need of any other procurement. Current procedure to select new assault rifle will continue for one and half year minimum. And actual delivery will finish in another year. So total time of 2/3 years. If F-INSAS rifle was anywhere near complete MOD would have never given green flag to this procurement. Actually this procurement is saying F-INSAS is minimum 4 years away from production line.

Mates, can any one tell what's happening with variants of INSAS (kalantak, Excalibur, Minsas, Insas multicaliber,MSMC, Amogh, & any news on Trichy assault rifle ??????????????????????????) I have heard from a source that Small Arms Factory Kanpur are pushing hard for Amogh assault rifle for SOF and did tried to make a pathetic copy of AK-47 called assault 7.62 which was dumped right away by army. Can't we go for TOT for any suitable selected rifle and license manufacture at our facilities instead of buying with hard cash..like FN-FAL, sterling submachine gun, 9mm browning highpower.

Can you add the option of F-INSAS Multi Caliber Individual Weapons System? Guys at Defexpo said it's part of te trials for new rifles.

I think we are having poll for replacement of INSAS.

I though it was more similar to Singapore Technology variant.

Seems IA already indicted M4 in few numbers. Please verify if I am wrong as pic shows an army personal behind general is having an M4 with MARS..
