The hindu terrorists leaders of India have raised the temperature so high among their nation, and by doing so, they have left very little to manoeuvre for themselves. Modi is perceived by majority of Indians as the strong man of India. Imagine the consequences if Indian so called strikes meet a swift end right at the border and Pakistani retaliatory strikes hit where it hurt most to India. The political consequences for the hindu extremists would be suicidal. India may implode from within after the failure. Though poor Muslim minority of India may have to face the brunt of frustrated hindu fanatics.

What if intruding IAF aircraft are shot down? Pilots maybe survive and captured.
Does Pakistan still retaliate and would this be a sufficient to know some sense into India's head?

Pakistan could still retaliate. Although India won't do anything the lie of surgical strike which they created is enough to assure me that they are in no position to fight.
