I always have wondered if Hans Zimmer was influenced in some of his long/repeated orchestral tones by CCR giving their magnus opus in their somewhat non-sequiter but sublime riff they have in the large interior of ramble tamble (this is extended version):

That riff always had a "spacey" feel for it for me.

But then again maybe CCR (and Zimmer) were influenced by previous operatic themes and folk music riffs that loved to just sustain a melody as long as the strings could hold and the worthies could draw breath

Something about going on and on that relates to the vastness of the universe quite well overall. I find there is this esoteric quality in humankind's holy scriptures too.
