Wedding in Islamabad: Must Watch

Honestly Pakistanis have nothing in their lives except weddings. This is like aunty thread. I didn't know most of the members on this forum are aunties.

and if funding wasnt an issue -- i would definitely go ''all out'' on my wedding.

it's better to waste money but also donate to the poor -- rather than the stupid tradition of firing automatic weapons in the air on weddings (which actually claims precious lives)

our people in Kurram do it all the time.

Pathan (traditional) wedding will be harder and harder to come by, except in the villages.....

but yes, our weddings involve a lot of guys and gals (depending on the family) dancing throughout the night......a lot of food & mitthai (like most Pakistani weddings)......


in my village whenever a couple gives birth to a child, the traditional thing to do is to fire 3 rounds a meter away from the baby's ears.......the idea is that they should be familiar with the sound of gunfire at early age so that if there is ever a need for war in the future, there would be no fear from the sound of a gunshot. When i was born it was 2 shots from an old .303

All i could see was some k4njar khana going on. Not much different to mujras, what is it with so called "upper class" pakistani weddings you get a full bollywood dance and acting routines. Begairats nevertheless i wouldn't mind tapping a few faces, hypocritical i know but i'm only a man.

Liberalists don't get in hissy fits with my statements now, as 95% of pakistans population agree with me. There is no sharam shourat. Wedding firing zindabad (in a safe enviroment)

I think wedding in Pakistan is getting to Indianised. The whole world wears simple clothes, white dress and suit, and these guys here come out with gold, and all other bright colours. I have noticed that when ever i attend a wedding, almost 99.99% of them are singing/dancing with Indian music on. Such a shame....

I have noticed that when ever i attend a wedding, almost 99.99% of them are singing/dancing with Indian music on. Such a shame....

a few of the songs will usually be some trendy indian hit (which got its own flair from western hits, so you cant really call it 'indian')

actually at my cousins wedding in Lahore (2010) i had warned the DJ to make sure no indian hits were being played.....i almost thrashed him and his equipment when he played a popular indian song (i cant remember what the name was, but it was an over-played one)

i agree that amongst some of the rich or confused people, there is a level of indianization of weddings and that trend should be reversed.....most weddings i go to are traditional...the only reason I bother with them is because i like to look at the girls from the other families.....apart from that, marriage as a concept is a bit over-rated

I go for food, firing, and to ogle at some of the girls if they are really some top notch specimens. If they are average I bounce right after the firing.

even firing at an angle perpindicular to the ground (i.e. straight up) does not ensure safety.....

what goes up, comes down.....hundreds of people die every year in Pakistan from wedding firing related incidents. I've seen up close and personal some of those effects.

as kids, we loved it....but as you grow, you realize it's a dangerous practice which should be banned.


plenty of gun clubs and places for doing firings....if they must do firing at wedding, they should use blanks --not real ammunition

I would agree with you, but one must be aware of their surroundings. I would never encourage firing in a city, however If you're in a village, and know which way to fire, I don't think it's that big of a deal.

Nothing like firing an AK with a drum on auto mode..... at a wedding... unlike these "stupid" weddings our weddings are conservative... men n women dnt mingle.
