Don't bring Islam in it, because if you yourself knew (and I honestly believe you DO) about Islam, you wouldn't be wasting your time on internet forums because as per islam this can also be classified as a useless time wasting activity, and this time should be used to pray and seek repentance.

Islam prohibits extravegenza, and also prohibits "miserliness" and advises to spend mony to support economy, not to keep it hidden in safe. Even the Rs. 2 million car you own is extravaganza, but the same auto industry provides more than 50,000 jobs in Pakistan, and you can expand this example to almost every manufactured thing.

And I do agree that video taping and broadcasting such show of affluence is cheap.

Rest of your post i agree but here we are not discussing skinflint. Yes Islam prohibits bikhul but at the same time also prohibits fazool kharchi. That is why we are advised to maintain balance.

Dont worry about how much other people spend, its their money. It only becomes a problem when it is the state money being used by the corrupts, and we all know who they are.

HAHA! Webby i agree with you 110% and this is Pakistan, where most of these Elites have gained their riches by not only exploiting, but by stealing from the state.

I didn't mean any offence and I do agree and did mention that isalm teaches middle path (MIANA RAVI) in everything becauseit protects from Bankruptcy.

I remember when Nawaz Sharifimposed ban on wedding dinner, it was not only the rich but almost every other common and not so rich who was going out of way to host such dinners in the name of birthday parties, milad, or what not. We can not dictate or enforce on others our opinions but can foloow islam in our own life and hope it appeals to others.

In Pakistan you can have a royal wedding at PC for the same amount for which you would pay in a normal 5 star hotel with half the guests (there are always more guests in a Pakistan wedding) out of Pakistan.

For Overseas Pakistanis wanting to get married in Pakistan, making such expenditures won't be out of the realm of possibilities.

Islami weddings btw, are not that cheap either... Mostly you need to book two halls because Men and Women should not mix. Other than making the wedding boring and a total waste, you end up spending the money for two sparsely populated halls, twice the catering, sometimes twice the food and almost always twice the wastage of food.

Dancing costs what? 10000 rps for the DJ, equipment and lights about 20,000 on stage decor/kosha to give a similar grand look. Most expenses are on the venues, food, dresses, jewellery and sometimes rasoomaat (depends on person to person).

i think its a sindhi tradition....i ve seen some marriages of Sindhi friends(who have migrated to India during partition). they had similar weddings...nothing wrong in having lavish weddins...atleast the money comes out of the rick guys bank account and goes to som other people....

mashallah, why islamabad, and why not kafirabad?? so much extravagance in the wedding, might have donated all theoney to poor needy people who cant eat even 2 times a day properly

Arey yaar, if you ask every rich man to donate all his earnings to a poor man, why should the rich man work hard to make that money? Instead that man could as well not work and be poor, ask others to donate money for him being poor. When every one starts thinking this way, entire people/ population be poor looking for alms from others. So that's why no one should encourage free donation to anyone.
