What's new

We Might All Die Tomorrow!

I am more interested in finding out if you believe it. Why are You spending the last few hours with me discussing assumptions and stuff.

Would be so fukkin funny if it happens.
You would need a new nick though.

Now tell me. Sneazing Panda vs Coughing Snow Leopard....

If I believe what?

I believe in facts and the facts at my disposal tell me there is a chance it might hit earth.

Are you 100% sure it won't hit earth?

NASA itself says "small chance of direct impact".

Watch out for the ones shaped as Dildos

I don't share your fantasies sorry.

Would be ironic if me or someone else reading this thread discovered something important before the asteroid impacts earth and reported to authorities which in turn would save lives... including yours!

Well have some Humor if its the last day.

The calculations you are refering to as facts are bunch of educated guess and assumptions.

So what if it hits.

Would be a pleasant change for once

Yes an intern mermaid just googled it.

So do you feel safe now?

you continually mis-interpret (mis-understand) western astronomical terminology.

a 'no chance to hit us' means absolutely no chance it will hit us.

a 'small chance it will hit us' means a very very small chance it will hit us. reporting it like that is used to get more and needed funding for asteroid and meteor hunting crews.

Warning is appreciated howevr you never know

This was a close visit as the distance was less distance beteen earth / moon

The space agency said the space rock, which has been dubbed 2017 YD7, will travel past Earth at a distance of 1,300,000 miles.

The US space agency says the asteroid will zoom past Earth at a speed of over 23,500mph at about 12.40am (GMT) on January 3, making it five times faster than the planet’s quickest manned aircraft – the North American X-15.

The escape velocity from Earth is about 11.186 km/s (6.951 mi/s; 40,270 km/h; 25,020 mph)

Now had this astoriod been influenced by earth gravity it would have been bad

The scary thing about these rocks is that once we spotted them, there's very little we can do to stop them: according to NASA's Planetary Defense Coordination Office

Its coming right at us....

I must ask.

Who did let them dogs out?

Unfortunately we are on Earth Prime.

If we were on a parallel Earth such as Earth One, there would be no worries, as Superman, Green Lantern or another high powered super being would neutralize the asteroid before it would become any real danger to Earth.
