Some 1000 hectare land is to be acquired and The project will include 6.15 km long and 21.10 m wide bridge, 15.1 km of approach roads, toll plazas and service areas.....in sabke liye $3bn??

Because river is 90 meter deep. from the bottom of the river you need another 150 meter deep piling due to heavy current and force of the water which is 90 meter tall.. (so every pillar will be 240 meter tall). I am just giving you an idea without giving complex calculation of force that will exert on the bridge.

look at the bridges built in high seismic zones like indian railway is building one on Chenab which will be worlds highest and then China has also built many bridges linking their mainland with many offshore islands .. none of them costs a bomb atleast not like $3bn.

Read my post properly... you need 240 meter tall pillar to sustain constant pressure of two of the worlds biggest river water current.

If building the bridge on that river was that easy we would not had waited that long and would not had considered as wonder of modern day architecture.

By the way, let the expert decide what needs to be done there instead of you a ignorant layman.

Eastwatch bhai, how valid do you think is the claim that Padma will add 1% to economic growth?

For every $1 of infrastructure spending you get back $2 worth of economic benefit. If you are spending 2 billion dollars on the bridge it will translate into 4 billion dollars of economic growth. So for 110 billion dollar Bangladesh economy it will translate to about 2 % growth.
