I read that BB stopped the investigation into Zia’s death because she had a grind to pick given how her dad died at Zia’s hands. They need to create a clean system. It’s truly is a banana republic. American diplomats killing people while driving drunk, German diplomats sexual assaulting people at LGBT parties. It’s literally a free for all.

By using political Islam to push agendas that go against the inherent nature of the people.
For example: suicide bombings. They were not a thing in the Islamic World, only became a thing when the powers that be pushed the extreme form of Islam for political gains. On the flip side, Mushy pushing that enlightened moderation bullshit to politically push westernization onto Pakistan. Only the elites and few burger families adopted this, causing tremors in our society where vast majority of the folks are still very traditional.

Gen Asim Munir is worried if Pakistan’s economic health persists like it has for the past year, then the defense budget will have to be slashed. The Generals don’t like their budget slashed.

Secondly, there have been talks about accountability of others including Generals for IMF loans as well. That’s a no go area.

Thirdly, Golf courses auctioned off. Another no go area. The Generals like their Golf courses maintained on public money, with free membership exclusively for themselves.

So it makes sense for Asim to meet the industrialists in the hope that they keep the economic wheel of the country moving so that the General’s rozi roti is sustained.
